Hi sifus, when normally do you guys sell/redeem the fund?
Comfortable with the amount of profit for example 30% in 6 months time? Wait till the fund expiry date to get the dividend? Wait at least a year to make use of the annual charges? |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Aug 7 2020, 02:57 PM) principal islamic lifetime enhanced sukuk fund & affin hwang aiiman balanced fund i dont believe in balance fund. u either go high risk or/and low risk. taking middle road makes no sense unless u just planning on buying 1 fund only. just my 2 cents Principal Islamic lifetime enhanced Sukuk fund ain’t low risk since it’s FI? principal greater china equity fund  eastspring investments small-cap fund - this is ok. but my fav pick for malaysia small cap is Kenanga Growth Opportunities Fund & KAF-Vision-Fund precious metals securities - but becareful. this fund is a miners fund. they can easily turn around and bite you back if you dont know what u hedging for. Guess I can consider changing affin Hwang aiiman balanced to low risk affin hwang aiiman income plus fund Precious metals securities I plan for short term investment, thinking of switching to FI fund once gold price starts to decline |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Aug 7 2020, 03:25 PM) Its not a pure F1. See the factsheet benchmark. They mixed between F1 and FBM EMAS Thanks for the infoBenchmark - 85% CIMB Islamic 1-Month Fixed Return Income Account-i (FRIA-i) + 15% FBM EMAS Shariah Index So to me this is a balance fund. If u looking for FI, go for AmanahRaya-Syariah-Trust-Fund instead. Much better IMHO. Precious metals securities, personally I invest in this with a lot of caution. Its only have 7+% in my portfolio. The fund move with both gold and equity directions. Prior to this the fund basically stayed in range for 7 years and didnt went anywhere. Coming in right now need some thought n timing to it. Just my 2 cents on it. Would like to switch to AmanahRaya Syariah Trust Fund but it’s not available under epf online platform. Any other FI fund? |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Aug 7 2020, 03:35 PM) Kenanga-ASnitaBOND-Fund If that’s the case Ill continue to monitor this principal Islamic lifetime enhanced Sukuk fund. So far after less than 1 month, the profit already achieved 3%.But if this is for EPF i dont think its any better return than EPF honestly. Might as well just let it stay in EPF. EPF itself i consider as a FI income fund actually. They have a minimal amount they need to contribute back and they are under political pressure to perform well. I will instead try to use my EPF to invest in outperforming EPF. That sounds more useful to me. |

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Aug 7 2020, 03:57 PM) try not to see short term performance. instead focus on 1 year at least. more is better. just remember past performance is not indicative of future gains. 👍 If I’m not mistaken the advice would be not having fund that’s overlapping with each other. Let’s say I invest on Kenanga Growth Opportunities, it’s overlapping with my Eastspring investment small cap right? I might as well just sell/redeem and focus on Kenanga Growth Opportunities since the performance better? |

QUOTE(yklooi @ Aug 7 2020, 04:04 PM) if you are looking for 3% in a month,...then have a look at this...with the same FSM rating Somehow I’m starting to kinda agree with white lighter, no point investing FI since epf returns not bad itself. I’ll focus on high performing equity fund. The principal Islamic lifetime enhanced Sukuk fund I’ll redeem once the performance dropthis has almost 2x that amount in a month EASTSPRING INVESTMENTS DANA AL-ISLAH https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/fsmone/fun...sheet/MYPRUDIS/ yklooi liked this post

QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Aug 7 2020, 05:27 PM) Think of your portfolio holistically. Balance it between growth n acceptable volatility. Think about all the type of risk your portfolio will face n think if it can survive within your given investment time horizon. Think about when to add n when to withdraw. Put a plan together, n work the plan. Good luck. Hhhmmmm...thanks sifu, give me sometime to digest this advice |

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Aug 10 2020, 09:46 AM) FSM Fund Choice: Affin Hwang Select Asia Pacific (Ex-Japan) Balanced Fund [August 2020] Another fund to consider switching from my Affin Hwang Aiiman Balanced Fund. Why we choose Affin Hwang Select Asia Pacfic (Ex-Japan) Balanced Fund Despite the fund being relatively new compared to peers, the performance generated since its launch in 2014 is commendable. Decent performance alongside better downside protection has also placed the fund onto our recommended funds list. The fund applies a total return approach and seeks to employ an approach of selecting quality securities while being cognisant of various macro conditions. Equities portfolio would consider companies with strong fundamentals and management while the fixed income portfolio considers interest rate outlook and relative return analysis. As of the latest available factsheet, nearly a quarter of the fixed income portfolio is invested in the high yield segment, while the majority is invested into investment grade credit securities (see Figure 8). The fund’s credit profile suggests exposure to yield generating assets while focusing on downside protection. Takeaway All in all, Asian economies are beginning to see green shoots of recovery. While potential risk could arise such as a resurgence in COVID cases, policymakers have demonstrated the willingness to assist the economy which could support asset prices going ahead. For investors that are looking to tap into the longer-term growth opportunities of the Asian market, they can consider investing in Affin Hwang Select Asia Pacific (Ex Japan) Balanced Fund – MYR. This balanced fund could help investors better ride out near-term volatility. Article link: https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/fsmone/art...nd-August-2020- Fund info link: https://www.fundsupermart.com.my/fsmone/fun...lanced-Fund-MYR It is under promo with 0.8% service charge. |
