QUOTE(jusTinMM @ Apr 4 2017, 12:53 PM) invest in one lump sum or split into months is better? most of the investors in this thread including me apply DCA to our investment.eg: I got rm24k, invest whole 24k into a fund or invest 2k per month for 12 months. split into months will have lower risk? since you are first time investor, to buy the fund for the first time some funds minimum requires you to invest RM1K. if i were you, i would allocate simply: 14k - CMF 10k - split into various funds for diversified portfolio, depends on you if you are aggressive or balanced. You can either refer to the recommended funds in FSM or like may forumers here diversify into multiple funds for wide local & global coverage. once you are done, every month top up accordingly to your portfolio percentage aims. welcome to the club |

QUOTE(xuzen @ Apr 9 2017, 06:31 PM) I am writing this not to disparage FSM material, but my Lic Fin Planner also just shared some market outlook with me. He said he just attended also a conference for Financial Planner. Not sure if i should skim my profits on India , US and Tech now 1) Market sentiment memang is bullish esp East Asia region. The simple reason is low PE. When low PE, smart money will naturally flow in to take advantage of the potential upside. 2) He is cautiously bearish on Malaysia. Despite the noise, the fundamental outlook on Malaysia is weak and the main cause is due to the massive external debt faced by this country. He further alluded to the fact that for the first time, the forex reserve has dropped below the external debt level. In lay man term, on your bank account you got MYR 100K, but you owe bank MYR 120K. 3) He is also said fund managers are bullish on REITS, but not M-REITS. 4) On US and India, the call is neutral with more downside risk than upside risk because PE is above historical high. What goes up, must eventually come down. If you have India or US, can start taking profit liao. If you do not have either, can give it a miss. You missed the boat already. 5) Watch out for Indonesia, she is the next boom. Xuzen |

QUOTE(xuzen @ Apr 15 2017, 10:56 AM) My latest portfolio standing. Amasia REIT you are referring to is is class B or Plus? Please note my port is currently on the moderate risk profile as I move towards middle age. If you are a young or with aggressive risk profile, you may consider a putting more money in higher risk UTF. Xuzen |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 17 2017, 10:17 PM) Normal what. DT fail in the healthcare bill, went and bomb syria, afgan, send a aircraft carrier to korea. All causes uncertainties and those investors start panicking. really test your confidence in making your move for these funds. Im still gonna DCA topup these funds in another 10 more days. Dunno about you guys. |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Apr 17 2017, 10:41 PM) would strongly suggest you reconsider investing in us and developed nations and focus on Asian countries. I have learnt about diversification from you good sifus here, but at the moment Im in a dilemma whether to continue my current port folio or re-stratergize as per what you have advised. QUOTE(Avangelice @ Apr 20 2017, 11:38 PM) Good timing. I been noticing my manulife US dragging my portfolio and I am thinking of doing a intra fund house switch to manulife India but doing so would place my allocation into India near 20%. same thinking for me too mate, thinking of switching TA fund and Us to India, but that leaves me at 30% for India. Kinda like sailang for India for me still putting my pillow high and thinking if to go at it or not. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 30 2017, 08:47 AM) Indonesia funds are not performing vs malaysian funds vs india. im thinking to buy manulife reits as a replacement for ponzi 1 since they have closed it. but unsure of allocation %If reits, I recommend manulife asia pacific reits. Don't go for crowd favourite of amasia. You will regret it. (I am currently regretting it for buying based on crowd recommendation) |

QUOTE(Avangelice @ May 11 2017, 07:43 PM) Good call the both of you. I was eyeing a full switch for a few weeks now and since trump has fired the director of the FBI I am expecting him to stream roll his presidency by ending it with an empeachment. but TAGF still seems strong, not really affected by Trump..i can see that Americans really regret voting for Trump already when that happens manulife us will tank. Its not a weather of if he gets impeached but rather when. I just switched all my us into India. now to rebalance my port. |

QUOTE(xuzen @ Nov 2 2017, 11:45 AM) Yah, thereabout.... slightly bigger, 2.5 Yr. master Xuxen, you and a few other forumers here inspire me to start saving and investing in FSM and others. I started in late 20s (28) with about almost 150k and have never looked back since. my next aim is of course to reach a portfolio of 2 years worth of salary and hopefully + kwsp will reach a comfortable amount by the time i'm 35.The other significant asset is my KWSP port which is double than this cash port. I don't have properties, I don't flip prop. My wealth comes purely from salary in which I spend less than I earn, then invest the rest. I save, then invest using DCA, i.e., the regular Joe method. I still have 20 more years thereabout till retirement. If I have started much younger, in my twenties, I would be in a much better position now. I only started to be financially savvy in my mid 30's. I wasted ten years of time in my twenties. Having said this, I do notice some of these people who join the forum are much younger. Kudos to them to be financially savvy at such a young age. Let me tell you young people, it is worth it.... Delayed gratification is worth it! Watch your risk, let the return take care of itself.... Xuzen |
