Hello All,

Does anyone knows if FSM allow and how to register nominee names in the unlikely event if the account holder deceased? If nominees not possible, what will happen to the units under your FSM account?

I am still new in this so pls bear with me.
Everybody is talking about US peaking and will start to drop soon. One thing I don't understand is what impact it has to other countries if US drop. Should I be worried when US drop when I'm holding China, Asia Pacific and India funds for example?
Thank you Masters.

while waiting for responses, can try read post 11078 and 11090...I think it has some similarity to what you asked....

yes,
when US mkts drops....so will China nd the rest of the global mkts....
when CHina drops,...so will US and the rest of the global mkts.....
it is how severe will each of them be impacted and for how long each of them be impacted.

thus...it is always recommended to set your FI:EQ allocation properly and invest with the money that you would not want to touch for a few years....

Thanks for the advice smile.gif
I'm relatively newbie in investing unit trust. Currently my allocation is 50% bank savings, 50% unit trusts. Of the 50% UT, I think around 80% is equity and 20% fixed income.
2016 made 5% profit. 2017 lost 4%. Still lots to learn from all the Masters smile.gif

Yes you are right about gold. Have to cut the loss and lick my wound. Now licking wound. But I see it as learning

Does anyone knows what equity funds under eastspring, Cimb and Manulife which is not volatile that could be used to lock in profit?
The idea is to intra-switch from funds with profit, keep it there and rebuy the fund when the price is lower without the sales charges.

switch to their respective Bond Fund, earn credit...then use credit to switch from bond to EQ when time is right  innocent.gif

Thanks
But I thought switching from bond to EQ will incur same sales charges?

Dear All,

I want to ask your opinion and experience on CIMB Asia Pacific Dynamic. There are two type, MYR and SGD hedged. The SGD hedged is superior in terms of return than MYR but what are the costs ie exchange rate charges from MYR to SGD during buying and charges from SGD back to MYR during selling?
Which one you think better MYR or SGD hedged in term of return - total costs?
Thanks

Guys,
Any opinion, experience, historical data on small cap post election in Malaysia?
Will it rebound or keep falling ? Is it a function of who is the ruling government?

Hi,
Looks like the US equity and global equity going downhill again with fear of second wave covid-19.
Does anyone know if one can switch from wholesale Franklin Opportunities fund to Franklin Sukuk (bond) and obtain credits?
And switch again from bond to wholesale again later using the credits to waive fees?

I see. Thanks for the update.

This mean that the last time I switched from TA Global to TA Dana Afif must have been before March then.

I asked customer service and was informed that TA refused to charge 0 % for TA Dana Afif hence it is delisted from FSM until they both can find an agreement. True, no low risk funds under TA at the moment for locking profits at the moment.

Can someone help me to understand the EPF investment through FSM platform.
There is a note in EPF website that the investment sum will be locked for 3 months after purchase. I am wondering if we buy and sell the funds let's say within one month, will the whole amount still be locked by EPF or we can repurchase anytime after selling? Thanks Gurus

After you have redeemed the investment, that fund will not be made available to you for reinvestment until the next cycle which is refreshed every 3 months. The way epf-mis counts it is from the first day you made investment. E.g;

1st july: buy rhb big cap ( first investment)
16th july; buy principal greater china

And you decide to redeem rhb big cap on 17th july, you will not be able to reinvest that fund again until 1st of july + 3 months.

For clarity, if you decide to redeem principal greater china on 20th august for example, you will be also be unablento reinvest that amount back until 1st july + 3 months

How to avoid this? Switch the fund instead of reedeming it. My strategy is switching back and forth from equity to bond taking advantage of the 0% sales charge and 0% switching fee( only for principal and kenanga), RHB still has rm25 fee.

Another thing is, please also understand the math involved in the calculation to determine the amount allowed to be invested. If let say you are elligible for 70k on this cycle and invested all of it in the beginning before deciding to redeem 30k out of the investment. That whole 30k will not be elligible directly in the next cycle, for example only 30% of that 30) can be invested directly in the next cycle.

Thank you for the reply and suggestion. It really helps a lot to those who are new to EPF investment.

Hi All,
Can we interswitch the epf fund we bought via FSM? I am planning to buy PMB Shariah Growth Fund using kwsp but I saw there are no low risk funds ie money market/income fund for the same fund house. Selling the fund (not switching fund) will lock the money for 3 months by kwsp and will render it sitting useless in kwsp. Thanks All.
