I have a question...I read a few times that US and China markets are gonna be down for the next few months, or we're going through correction, etc. Is it good that I buy the related funds now, or wait it out till months later because we don't know how low it'll go?

Please don't smack me for my very limited knowledge. Thanks for advice.

If u know it gonna correction or crash, u just on hold n wait for the lowest point to enter.
I dun know what is the actual date it will come, so I in first n just DCA. 😁

what is your level of confident/believes in what you read?

if you are dead sure of what they said is to be true things.....then wait for it to come and buy when it ends.

Sorry if I wasn't being clear, it's more of broader sense where I'm talking about this down period in general...my next batch of funds will come in next week, and it's purely cuz I happened to start Stashaway this week, not from timing market.

So just wanted to know if it's disastrous to start now or probably start smaller since it's volatile now. From what I've read so far, I think it's fine to proceed, but will shrink the fund smaller, lol

Also, I'm keeping consistency with this app, will DCA it for this year monthly, let's see how it goes for me smile.gif

you may have "escaped" the trip/fall this time,...what about the next bumps or potholes?
what about when your accumulated DCA sums + profits had grown over the next few months and then potholes happened without warning?

thus, just review your suitability or your risk level selection in Stashaway or risk rating selection of your unit trust funds, the composition ratio of your asset classes, the level of diversity of your portfolio and your % of allocation in those higher risk/focused funds if any.
just be honest to yourself, no right or wrong...it is individual's preferences...

it depends on how your analyse the market
i have read report/news that there were short squeeze in bond market hence the sudden spike in the rate
and market usually forward pricing so these past week dipping are pricing in player moving to bond market
hence potentially once the market done its 'rebalancing' there will be strong bounce

no body can give you the accurate, heck even completely opposite from what i written. thats why you will always heard do your own due diligence. not all investor see eye to eye.

personally i assume mid march the market will bounce, based on my understanding and research.

Thanks for your advices.

On the side, I see lots of conversations regarding gold. The existing RIs have quite heavy % in it...I've selected auto-reoptimisation, I let SA so the work...but I see there are people here that changes the weightage, is it cuz you'd rather manage it manually in the events like these? Do you guys think it's wise to touch it? For myself, I won't...just asking to understand better smile.gif

Hey guys, general question here, haven't visited for quite a while. How's FSM doing? Still many staying invested or maybe going in more during these times of uncertainty?

I honestly don't know what to do for investment anymore. It's like, nothing's certain except FD, lol
