Would like to know how u guys invest for unit trust like how u determine whether it is suitable for short term or long term?

Is it short term for equity as u quickly buy when low an sell when high repeatedly or wait for few years and long term for stable fixed income unit trusts?

List your holding and breakdown percent here for us to review if u don't mind.
*
(-13.46%) Precious metal
(-10.33%) RHB gold general
(10.30%) Ta global
(14.27%) United global tech myr hedged
(5.25%) United malaysia fund class A

Gold is performing so bad now

QUOTE(encikbuta @ Dec 8 2020, 06:52 PM)
But 4% in 6 months means about 8% p.a. That is quite good!

How much % p.a you aiming for?
*
I would be aiming for 7-12%. Else its like same to fd

waiseh......just hope ur % of gold not much.......
but ur portfolio only consist msia, gold n tech only ?..... sweat.gif
not interested in china or Asia ?
*
60% tech and 20% gold. I did feel the tech took too much proportion tho.
Currently the funds are like spiking high so im not sure wat china asia can enter now. Any recommendation?

amchina a shares, feeder fund managed by Allianz
*
Ok. Will check them out. Thanks

If you want to level out volatility u can also consider some bond.

allocation for each i think keep it simple, 20% bond n cash, 20% china, 20% GC, 20% malaysia, 20% US
*
By bond, do u mean bond funds or trading under bond express?

For the purpose of this discussion it's bond fund. I would pick amanahraya trust fund if it's up to me.
*
Ok. Thanks for the recommendation

QUOTE(ironman16 @ Dec 8 2020, 10:49 PM)
others sifu oledi recomend u
i prefer amchina a shares but no bullet, so just stick with principal great china.

just like others said, wait until ur gold breakeven baru reduce it, if reduce now sure is count as loss.

i like United Msia too (AmMalaysia Equity/ Kenanga Growth Fund Series 2 - MYR Class >>> my waiting list)

can add some asia ( can consider Affin Hwang Select Asia Pacific (Ex Japan) Dividend Fund - MYR)

global >> i choose United Global Quality Equity Fund - MYR Hedged

one more oso in my radar but FSM havent got (Affin Hwang World Series - Global Disruptive Innovation Fund)......hopefully this month FSM can get it
But is wholesale fund, just wish the initial dont too high

above is my opinion, u can try do some home work n find the best to suit u.....
*
Same no bullet. Collecting before start on asia/china. Thanks ya

QUOTE(CSW1990 @ Dec 9 2020, 09:28 AM)
I believe you must be buying the precious metal and rhb gold general when gold price around 2k in June/july same like me..
If you are investing this for long term, should hold and continue top up unless you have better investment choices.
*
Yup. After bought, it went down. Now waiting for breakeven
