Come in just at the right time, please help us to answer why cimb asia pac dynamic income aka ponzi 2.0 gives out a distribution per unit of RM 0.0007 per unit. Did someone put a knife on the fund house neck  ?
*
For that question i really dun have any answer for now. But if I have more details about it later i will share it here. Most fund i advise my client to invest are either in Equity Fund, Equity Growth Fund and Asia Pacific Fund (Islamic Fund).

The big risk is
uncertainty about United States trade policy with Asia
(particularly China).

This might be the reason. If you are reading at the fund manager report as stated on 31 January 2017 fund fact sheet you might get a clue what is the cause for the distribution to become low like that.

The depreciation of Ringgit over USD also might be the cause.

Can't they just DON'T GIVE ANYTHING ? Is there is law somewhere that they MUST give something at certain time ?  shakehead.gif
*
So ur meaning is better dun give nothing than give such low distribution? Well i think maybe because they want to keep the fund manager reputation? Hehe...i can only give speculation idea...more analysis need to wait for the fund fact sheet come out...The distribution come out today?

As far as i know there is no any regulation that said the fund distribution is a must...they can give or not depend to the fund performance.

Wow, you know everything about ASB?

My ever burning question of ASB - What is the NAV of ASB? Don't tell me 1.00 per unit because that's just the book value that it's trade at. I would like to know what is the value of its underlying assets; both 70+% quoted shares and 20+% other investments
*
Dont get me wrong i know about asb technique and calculation use in asb financing. That details u ask u can get it in the ASB prospectus...hehe...

Asnb have many type of fund...one of it is asb

Asb are selling the unit at a fix price same with asb 2.

I dunno what u want to argue with. You seem know a lot about asb too. So why bother to ask? To know how much knowledge i have?

At asb, they have two type fix price and variable price

Funds with fix price solely profit comes from distribution and bonus

Funds with variable funds same like normal UT.

Since you say you know almost everything about ASB (yes, the bumi FP fund), which is a cloud of mystery for us who try to understand it from mutual funds perspective.

You see NAV is the price that the fund value at, which shows the net asset per unit

NAV do fluctuate as per market movement, but not the case for ASB

Which then we want to know how is the true performance of this fund (not the dividend declared to the unit holders), since it is not disclosed publicly, which make it very suspicious such as the recent years distribution (despite negative KLCI performance)
*
For ASB, ASW 2020, AS, ASD 1 malaysia and asb 2 the introduction of MFRS requires the fund to apply NAV in its valuation bases and processes.

The SC has specified that ASB, ASW 2020, ASM,ASD and AS 1 Malaysia are not required to comply with MFRS 139 and MFRS 7 until 31 december 2018.

I dunno if this can help u or not to clarify any involve ASB NAV or whatsoever u r trying to seek for... Anyway i come here is to learn about UT...hehe...but for ASB calculation i might can help u guys.

Note : i have read the master prospectus u look at page 218. Yes ASB and ASW 2020 are exempted from disclosing about etc2 include statement of changes in NAV.

Anyway tq for open my eyes about the fact of ASB...

Anyway, what I wanted to know, on top of the market value of the quoted shares; is also what is this other investments/pelaburan lain dan aset bersih
[attachmentid=8597198]

But nevermind la, I'm not vested in ASB and can never be. If ppl who are vested are happy of not knowing, why should I be so nosy. This fund is not even capital guaranteed like Tabung Haji which raises the risk of bail out causing a systemic risk to the country

I dun mind getting grilled...hehe...well maybe because when i said i know almost everything without explain actually i know how to calculate for asb financing not the asb facts or whatsoever hidden in make dasecret really think i'm knowledgeable about ASB.

Im just a consultant not an accountant or a fund manager. My job is like a salesman but selling investment product.

Anyway the question dasecret ask is a good one actually. It make me download the master prospectus and read it thoroughly one by one to find the answer. Hehe...

Because there are quite a lot of salesman (not all) chasijg for sales only or recommend funds without considering risk and return

At the internet age and still the same commission structure, we expect more from agents than just operational procedure and infos that already publicly available

We wish and kinda expect agents know more than the average Joe's, especially explain to freshers like me and Ramjade innocent.gif
*
Yes what u said is correct...but we all also are not expert in the field...yes we might know the formula to calculate NAV, asset value and so on...but actually we all only can make speculations and predicament analysis base on the facts available.

All the markets value either profit or not is not in our hands include the fund manager. They invest based on the available facts and forecast. The rest is the market itself. If it goes up than it will benefit to ours return profitable but if it goes down we cant avoid it.

Thats why i stick to this 4 rules

- dollar cost averaging
- invest regularly
- invest medium to long term
- diversifications

Ok la. Hope u guys understand. Im here to learn. Not to show off because im not expert in UT. Ok ✌

That's why we learn together and help each other in hope to benefit the public smile.gif

I see many of my peers are not aware of their investment option, even my seniors, who devote all their savings in FD but spend luxurious items only without a plan to make their money grow more

They still have the mindset that mutual funds SC are expensive (it is still anyway despite the online platform option) and forgo their diversification option in mutual funds

Peace smile.gif

But do you know this is DIY platform ?? in future, there might be less people using agent services and more on diy investing.

even for me, I m not switching to DIY when investing in shares and stop contacting my remisier. No wonder he called me so frequently lately. But I didn't tell him I m into online investment rather than using agent / remisier services.
*
Yes i know. Well i like to learn...any new knowledge especially investment i want to explore more. I use to invest in forex but i stop it because i cant hold myself. Now im more into UT because its less risk if we know what we r doing. If im loss, i will not loss everything. Thats the best of it. Plus i dun need to invest by my own, an expert in this field will invest for me.

Past performance will not indicates the future performance. But still the past performance is the key for us to invest in the fund or not. Hehe ok la...anyway hope we all can learn more about UT. ✌

Looking at the fund fact sheet the graph for ponzi 2.0 are looking quite good since established. Long term always uptrend.
