When I construct a portfolio, I need the stability of RHB AIF and the high risk, high return of TA GTF for the ommph!

The other high risk, high return UTF in my port is Manulife India. I also participate in AMReits and recently RHB EMB for a slight diversification and fixed income play.

In portfolio construction, you need these various UTF to build a good risk-adjusted performance port.

Other than risk adjusted returns, do you also consider correlation of funds or geographical markets?

No Msia equities?

btw, how do you / where do you get the data for correlation of funds (in MYR context)?
*
My nick already suggested I couldn't get it lor sweat.gif

I wish to have it too. In lieu of that, I do guesswork lor. Like ponzi 1.0 doesn't seem to be highly correlated to ponzi 2.0 although they are in the same segment since ponzi 1.0 is mainly in asean and ponzi is aussie, HK and india

The article mentioned that the interpac fund manager Lim Tze Cheng was from RHB. Anyone knows what funds were under his care when he was with RHB ?
*
The article also mentioned that he's the head of equity. If you remember how concentrated the small cap counters were in RHB funds, I'd say he or the CIO call the shots more than the individual fund managers lor. You can have U-Li in most of the Msia equity funds in RHB, cutting across the smart series, SCOUT, GIFT, Kid save and the list continues

You can copy paste the URL in the window of the Morningstar Portfolio X-Ray into a new tab, and change the "USD" at the end of the URL address to "MYR" to make it calculate performance based on Ringgits. Then click on the PDF link to open the PDF report with the correlations and it will be in MYR.
*
Yay! Finally 2 months later someone show how to get MYR correlation! notworthy.gif

For negative correlation, so far I only observe RHB islamic bond has negative correlation with a lot of foreign funds, but at least now can find more funds with low correlation with each other compared to the USD version

For India, see above reply to yklooi.

KGF has excellent low correlation coefficient to all the other nine UTF in my bucket list. That is why it is included in all twelve of the simulated port even though its risk to reward isn't fantastic, it is just that it provides excellent diversification.

Take note I purposely did not include Ponzi One and Kapchai fund because both of them are closed. I also purposely did not include Ponzi Two because somehow morningstar do not have corr-coeff value foe Ponzi Two MYR UTF. Becuase of the absence of data, Ponzi Two by default is not included into Algozen™ ver. 4 simulation.

For ponzi 2.0, you need to pick the right fund name >> CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Inc
Not the MYR one, then you can get the correlation data

Actually our concerned was not about injection per se. We are concerned about withdrawal of the heavy weight investor rather.
*
This is a very valid concern; given their significant concentration on certain small cap counters which are low in liquidity, when they are forced to sell the share price will free fall and therefore the remaining fund would be affected as well.

Ppl need to be aware of such risk when going big on small funds. Put in what you can afford to lose

There is no need to be defensive and you have nothing to prove to me or anyone else.  I know you mean well and you are always helpful in this thread but you tend to oversell your credibility.  If you notice, the more senior investors here don't do that.  Why do you think that is?  There are good reasons for that. Maybe a little self reflection is needed?
*
Are there even more senior investors here? Other than xuzen who openly says he's 40+ the rest all seem to be newbies who has less than 12 months experience with UT. What happen to those who were active since version 1 of this thread?

This thread is becoming so interesting. We have sifus, Yoda, trolls, charlatans, one hit wonder, etc.

Can the real McCoy please stand up? 😃

It's not interesting enough yet, why not you chip in to give fund tipsy?

Fantastic right? He took out some big loans from the bank utk dapat 50k tu. Macam ASB loan tau...

28% YTD dah nak showoff. Kata buat research, tau lah underlying holdings. Kata ada ballz to take bank loans creatively, tapi no ballz buy underlying holdings. I thought you tau fundamentals?

My Interpac mirror stock portfolio already 182% return YTD, oh my VISdynamic, fly fly fly. Today profit can buy Audi TT cash, next week Audi R8??  drool.gif

Kucing memang kucing.

Ahh.... here's my hero. Ini baru la success, 182% YTD drool.gif

Why do u assume others don't already have crypto currency? And this is a Unit trust fsm forum. So we discuss unit trust here. There are ppl here say they make 200% in stocks. And that is more suitable to discuss at the stock forum.
*
No mah, just trying to help you make more $$. Unit trust for speculation far less rewarding than stocks, options and commodities or exotic instruments. Would love to see you on those threads showing screenshots of big investments too brows.gif

Simple, people focus on area which they think they have advantage. For areas where one has no advantage, then it becomes a gamble. When comes to gambling, there are many places to gamble. Genting is one of them.

Cannot be bitcoin no advantage? From USD100 become USD20 million wor
