QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Sep 25 2019, 11:23 AM) I always felt Bond Fund should be a stablizing factor in the portfolio. Something you can park safely your money for short term use. EM Bond fund seems counter productive to that. Some years they even make losses. So if you do add EM Bond, please dont do it if you are looking to chase for higher return. Coz IMHO they are not necessarily any safer than equity fund like REIT. Ya, bond funds foreign exposed or not, got risk too, remember I lost alot when trump got elected |

QUOTE(MUM @ Oct 8 2019, 05:51 PM) Malaysia sweetens tax incentives for companies to set up hubs Look interesting, the recent tax reform by India did give some push upwards πEffective this year, companies eligible for the government's Principal Hub (PH) incentive will be able to enjoy a 10% tax rate for their operations instead of the wider corporate tax rate of 24%, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) said. https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/176759...-to-set-up-hubs MY focused funds got hope soon kah? |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Nov 7 2019, 09:04 AM) one thing I have learnt in life is, be careful in generalisation, drawing conclusion, tunnel vision, etc. βYou may try REITs fund instead of individual REIT, i am holding Amasia Pacific REITS Class B MYR, it has a substantial amount in Singapore REITs, im quite satisfied with the performanceSome indexes or shares are at ATH but some are at ATL or thereabout. The one I sold has not been doing well lately. So .... glad that I got out early. Yes, it may recover next week. I got out because it is part of my retirement fund which I need to preserve at least the capital. Seeing the price dropped at about 50% in 2008 crash really scares me. I have explained my rationale many times. Best not to discuss here as I may get some razor sharp insults just because of different view or interpretation. Cheerio. |

I'm kind of feeling perplexed how SA can show updated on buy/sell transactions, just thought it would be great if FSM can somehow do it too, I still find the time needed to update the factsheet abit too long, just saying π

QUOTE(Krv23490 @ Nov 15 2019, 11:03 PM) US equities climbing, i think is the transfer of money from safe assets, ya, like reits and gold, and probably bonds too, thing is what gives the confidence boost to these people, with so many geopolitics happening around the globe, do they even know US debt is piling up? , do the "assumed" to be expensive reits market a lower preference bet? So much of emotional judgement |

If you're familiar with UT, income distribution is just adding your units, not value. The reason, to pull down the nav and make it looks interesting to buy in. They can distribute everyday I don't mind πany reason y the sudden income distribution? not complaining but just curious... |

Just an investing lesson I came across lately, not new though, perhaps a reminder
over-diversification could also hurt investment returns. Some investors believe that the more assets they own, the better return they can have β and thatβs not the right concept. It could increase investment cost, add unnecessary due-diligence efforts and lead to below-average risk-adjusted returns. |
