I always felt Bond Fund should be a stablizing factor in the portfolio. Something you can park safely your money for short term use. EM Bond fund seems counter productive to that. Some years they even make losses. So if you do add EM Bond, please dont do it if you are looking to chase for higher return. Coz IMHO they are not necessarily any safer than equity fund like REIT.

The one I sold has not been doing well lately. So .... glad that I got out early. Yes, it may recover next week. I got out because it is part of my retirement fund which I need to preserve at least the capital. Seeing the price dropped at about 50% in 2008 crash really scares me.

I have explained my rationale many times. Best not to discuss here as I may get some razor sharp insults just because of different view or interpretation.  smile.gif  sad.gif  ranting.gif

β€ŒYou may try REITs fund instead of individual REIT, i am holding Amasia Pacific REITS Class B MYR, it has a substantial amount in Singapore REITs, im quite satisfied with the performance

I'm kind of feeling perplexed how SA can show updated on buy/sell transactions, just thought it would be great if FSM can somehow do it too, I still find the time needed to update the factsheet abit too long, just saying πŸ˜…

US equities climbing, i think is the transfer of money from safe assets, ya, like reits and gold, and probably bonds too, thing is what gives the confidence boost to these people, with so many geopolitics happening around the globe, do they even know US debt is piling up? , do the "assumed" to be expensive reits market a lower preference bet? So much of emotional judgement

If you're familiar with UT, income distribution is just adding your units, not value. The reason, to pull down the nav and make it looks interesting to buy in. They can distribute everyday I don't mind 😁

over-diversification could also hurt investment returns. Some investors believe that the more assets they own, the better return they can have β€” and that’s not the right concept.
