FSM Fund Choice: Eastspring Investments Global Target Income Fund [April 2018]

THE BOTTOM LINE

Rising yields are generally negative for global bond funds. However, there can be exceptions to the rule, and investors who expect interest rates to continue rising may take a look on selected global bond funds where are better position in a rising interest rate environment.

To those investors who share our view, Eastspring Investments Global Target Income Fund would be an ideal candidate where it is primarily exposed to credit, and has a sizable allocation to higher-yielding bonds which have shorter maturities and tend to be less interest rate sensitive where the performance of its holdings is generally more sensitive to credit fundamental changes and economic growth.

Given that we are still optimistic on the global economic outlook, we believe that this should have positive implications for corporate profitability and thus translates into better performance of the fund.

yes, was at a CIMB talk last month.....
the FM said, Ponzi 2.0 are targeting to gives out about 1% per quarter dividend (abt 4% pa)
thus this fund hold a portion of the stocks in "defensive segment" of the economy that consisted of dividend paying stocks.....

this fund cater for investors that liked abit more stablility.......

for investors that whom are "younger" and looking for asset growth....can consider Asia Pacific Dynamic Growth fund
this fund focused more on growth stocks and may consist of none dividend paying stocks.

So did you buy CIMB-PRINCIPAL ASIA PACIFIC DYNAMIC GROWTH - MYR?

It is investing mainly in small cap. You should compare with KLSE small cap index instead of klsi.

KGF invests mainly in small cap?
I thought they should be investing in FBM 100.

Of course. 3% is basically risk free.  Sometimes it's to put into 3% risk free than risk your money in the stock market.

KLCI falls 40 points, broad selling across Bursa Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: It’s sea of red on the local bourse, with losers outpacing gainers, mirroring the performance on key Asian markets.

The benchmark FBM KLCI plunged 40.78 points, or 2.21% to 1,804.25, its intra-day low at closing. The index opened 1.63 points weaker at 1,843.40.

In the broader market, there were 763 losers against 234 gainers while 351 counters unchanged. About 2.59 billion shares, valued at RM3.08bil, changed hands.

Dealers said the weak earnings results and dampened investor sentiment sparked a broad-based selldown in equity.

Adding to the downbeat note, regional sentiment was weak following US President Donald Trump’s remarks that he was not happy with the current progress in resolving the US-China trade conflict.
