Ha ha I am investing in 25 funds from FSM , crazy ya  mega_shok.gif !!!

Investment amount per fund ranging from 1k to 20K  sweat.gif    but seldom or NO DCAing....

Is this a High risk move  rclxub.gif ??

Good and bad comments are welcome from Sifus here.. wink.gif

in my opinion there is no problem in investing in high number of fund. But....

its not jst as simple as that.

to me the ability to average down a position is important. let say u have 25 funds n u have only 1k a month ability to average down a position.

this means if the fund min top up is rm100, u only have ability to average 10 of 25 funds, once every month. if this is the case, 25 funds is way to much for u. for me ideally if this is the limit of my ability, i will reduce the number of fund to less than 10. ideally keep around 5 is best.

just my 2 cents

if you have 10 funds of similar correlated funds at RM1k each (ex: all 10 are Msia small cap funds)
if you sell 9 of them to consolidate it into 1 single fund....will mean you have RM10k in a fund

if you have RM100 to top up each month,....topping up RM100 into a fund with RM1k inside while the rest of the 9 funds you did not top up (if these 10 funds of similar correlated) VS topping up RM100 into a RM10k fund.....is it SAME?
hmm.gif
*
No funds will correlate till 1

Each will have a slight difference. And the correlation changes from time to time. Lower in some times n equal in other times.

Hi all, I have sold most of my heavy china related fund into cash account first, to secure the profit and waiting for a better chance to reenter at this moment instead of DCA as I believe this major crash will still happening for a period.

Just wondering, i think we all agreed that this china crash will affect most of the market, asia and US. Would like to hear from you all on your perspective into this.
*
I personally have trim some position but I did not entirely exit from GC. Time will tell if this is right or wrong move.

I see bad news on China and came here for some consolation...but the education crackdown, does it actually affect the funds?
I had a look at the Schroder ISF Greater China (Principal Greater China) annual and can't find any related stocks, of course, unless they bought in since 2021.
Except for Tencent, Alibaba which is essentially in almost every China and Asia Pacific funds.
*
The education crackdown is just a side effect of a larger regulatory realignment by CCP. Just standby and stand to.

I can tell for sure it is going down

With CCP crackdown this time it is only the start because more larger cracking gonna come will hurt the China market more because of the policy shift into their anniversary

So don’t bother touching it unless you love a falling knife rclxms.gif

wow. even if the sales fee is at 1.5%, with such a low expense ratio compared to UT in malaysia which hardly could generate alpha anyway, this would be a huge addition to local investor portfolio

My port dipped in July

YTD TWR : -0.78 %
MoM Change TWR : -4.61 %

YTD MWR : -1.13 %
MoM Change MWR : -3.35 %

ROI with DCA since start tracking : 26.01 %
MoM Change : +1.56 %

ROI increases this month as I continue to trim down position to reduce exposure n take some profit.
China & GC is a drag to the portfolio

Many funds will be impacted

Might be temporary only. The rumor was brought about by a news article in china calling online gaming into question. Sparking fears of gov regulations. But it's possible it's only just rumor.

With China stocks right now (especially those available for sale in US) it is temporary until further notice. Bulls will say 10% discount, bears say holy crap batman.

Personally I've been cutting my exposure n stop adding more into China n HK until all this blows over. Instead I choose to top up a more broader covering fund that has mixed of other asian countries in it n a lower single exposure to China n HK

its a suprise to me that you cant purchase this via epf and go through fsm.
but you can buy directly from fsm  laugh.gif
*
U could buy direct from FSM but need to pay 1.5% sales fee. Only by going thru epf website u get 0%. Unforunately this is not possible according to FSM customer service rep. As a result, I created an account directly with RHB to get the 0%. But RHB Asset Management sux. Dont have proper account to login n view. Need view from epf.
