QUOTE(xuzen @ Jan 21 2018, 12:09 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The below piece of op-ed is a follow up on my writing above. The writing is not targeted at noobs, it is for those who have been follwowing Algozen ver four or for those with a a few years of experience with UTF investing. Over the weekend, with some free time on my side, I went back to revisit Algozen ver four recently. I inputed fresh data into the algorithm and this is what I get. The feeling is the risk to reward has dropped. Generally the writing is that you need to take greater risk to maintain the same reward going forward versus previously. My gut feel is that the Quant Easing that took place a few years ago is starting to wean off. Now the new normal is you need to assume greater risk than before. In other words, your port need to work harder to cari makan. Work harder in this sense means your port need to take on more risk to find the same amount of return. Life sucks right? But hey, if given lemons, just make lemonade lah! The main engine of growth is in the China region. Algozen ver four keeps recommending to put a high percentage in the China region. Algozen ver four has assigned an underweight call for Bond or Fixed Income asset class going forward. The new asset class that will fill in this role of fixed income but with decent ROI is REITs. In summary: 1) Overweight Equities especially the China Region [My personal preference is Eastspring Dinasti ] 2) Underweight or ignore Tradtional Fixed Income 3) Use REITS or Conservative Balance fund [ My personal preference Manureits or RHB AIF ] as an alternative to Fixed Income in your portfolio. 4) expect more swing in your port going forward. Xuzen. Looks like most people hv more or less same thinking here as well as with FSM own analyst Just after new year 2018 I've adjusted my port as well to be Asia heavy with Ponzi 2 n Dinasti fund focusing on greater China region. I trim down my 2018 allocation for TAGTF from 33% to 15%, and Manulife REIT 33% to 20%. Added allocation for KGF 10% for 2018 as well... Good luck to us all |

QUOTE(callmeadoctor @ Jan 21 2018, 06:45 PM) Good evening to all sifus, im a newbie and i would like to ask for some guidance from u all if u dont mind. 1) CMF (cash management fund), DIY (Do it yourself), AHSB (Affin Hwang Select Bond), overweight means give priority to.1)May i know what is the meaning of 'CMF' , 'DIY', 'AHSB', 'overwright' 2)Based on the discussion above, I conclude that many sifus are looking positive towards China equities UT, I have actually invested in Affinhwang - china growth fund since last year and made a 18% profit without knowing anything(I consider it as beginer's luck? Lol), so do you guys think i should keep holding this fund or should i switch to another fund (those u guys mentioned earlier) If i wish to make further profit? 3) I sincerely looking for someone who is kind enough to guide / provide some advice to me when needed, pls pm me if you dont mind this trouble, we can discuss further. *I can give you some medical advice too if needed, yup i'm a doctor. 4) What is the difference between hedge fund vs non hedge fund? Pro and cons? 2) Generally there is no right or wrong way. Each of us hold diff fund n have diff allocation to each. I think most people can agree on is to try to diversify your portfolio as much as possible but don't become until a Pokemon portfolio (too many different funds) 3) I know it's tedious but generally u can just read back what we discuss here minus all the rubbish talk cock sing song in between. Most things talk here is repetitive. This post has been edited by WhitE LighteR: Jan 21 2018, 08:06 PM |

QUOTE(i1899 @ Jan 24 2018, 04:51 PM) I just finished the switch processes of my Ta global Tech to United Global Quality EQ, for more diversification purpose and also for below reason. Very interesting analysis[attachmentid=9540263] Ta global tech is lagging behind its mother fund more than 20% in 1 year time, because Ta Global tech only invest 70% into its mother fund, and keep 30% of ur money as liquid asset, which is against to it asset allocation in Product Highlight Sheet : "minimum of 95% of the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV) will be invested in the Henderson Horizon Fund – Global Technology Fund (“the Target Fund”), with the balance in liquid assets." [attachmentid=9540297] It is not acceptable for me. Like information on the packaging is different like things inside. |

QUOTE(e-lite @ Jan 25 2018, 05:37 PM) Even with the 0% SC promo by FSM this weekend, I am quite wary to invest heavily as markets are now all-time high and bonds are a no-no with US slowly increasing bond yields. Higher bond yield is a bad thing meh. I thought if u invest in bond higher yield is better for uPerhaps just keep cash in flexi mortgage for the time being. |

QUOTE(-TcT- @ Jan 26 2018, 08:16 PM) Anyone can explain why RHB Emerging Market Bond Fund keeps dropping? I personally prefer funds with a Sharpe ratio above 1 and avoid anything below 1Due to MYR strengthening? Means past purchases become diluted due to stronger MYR? Damn, I keep topping up and it keeps dropping |

QUOTE(T231H @ Jan 29 2018, 02:20 AM) Where investors can find value in 2018 by Eastspring Investment Thank you for the share There is a lot of value to be found still — if one knows where to look. But it is critical to realise that the days of easy money are well over. The “Rush to Safety” of the past few years has left many ‘safe’ asset classes looking expensive, but equally, it has left many ‘less-safe’ asset classes looking attractively priced — very much so in some long overlooked instances. In searching for higher returns in 2018, investors will likely find them, but only at the cost of taking on more risk. Determining how much extra risk investors are prepared to accept for the extra return should be a major consideration this year. This distinction applies to both bonds and equities. https://yahoosg-investmentmatters.tumblr.co...d-value-in-2018 2018 Market outlook 2018 is shaping up to be another good year. The drivers behind 2017’s equity and bond rallies should continue with Asia benefitting from the synchronised global recovery. It is still “Risk On” – the bulls are still charging, but keep an eye on the crouching bears.
