jz got confirmation from other hamster forum... looks like my hamster condition is not because of old age... its due to a disease called Cushing's Disease caused by wrong usage of beddings....

If you wanted a hamster that can be held and touch, you should not have gotten a robo. They are more of a display hamster than a handling hamster. There is no way to solve it coz their main instinct in life is to run away from predator, which hamsters tend to see humans as predator coz of our size.
Hmmm... does it has all of these symptoms?

yaya... if u want a hamster that can be held and play with easily, u should have got urself a syrian hamster.... they are bigger in size (so u wont squash or accidently squeeze them easily) and and much more tame.... one thing bad is that, they do not respond to ur call... they only respond to food... laugh.gif

most of those symptoms happens to my hamster.... wrinkled skin, fur dropping off, sometimes scratching itself, skin has tiny red spots, dead skin is peeling off, bla bla bla... but he does eat n sleep well... in fact, he eats n drinks quite alot.... sad.gif

hmm..Aquarium tank right...is it really good??? What about the air ventilation in it? ONly can flow from above right? NO direct ventilation ...is this alright for the hamsters?and for the owner(the smell of the tank-when cleaning up the tank)

Also if ur hamster is aggressive how are you supposed to take it out of the tank?At least using cage, you can take the cage out and the hamster can climb out.My hamster is very territorial in its cage but when i take them out from the cage, they become very tame.Just imagine tank...only can take them out from above...surely will get bitten.(for territorial hamsters sweat.gif)

open the top is good enough lor... my bin cage also open the top (well, use mesh lid to cover it la).... all of them survive, although they everyday sleep only... doh.gif

u can alwiz use a scoop to scoop them up mah...
tip: use toilet water scoop... icon_rolleyes.gif

lol... beg for food? That I'm not so sure. Are you sure they're lazy only only exercise few minutes a day? How about at night? Midnight? 1am-7am when you're asleep?
*
1am-5am i'm awake.... no they not awake... no noise and commotion whatsoever whenever i check on them... each time i need to wake them up and kacau their sleep.... when i let them out and wake around the house for more than 15min they only start to get active.... or else, sleeps whole day.... doh.gif

QUOTE(kembara @ Jun 15 2007, 09:15 PM)
