Should never have such an award.... I would be ok with the "hamster with the best fur" or "hamster that has the best standard" or "prettiest hamster" or even "smartest hamster or best hamster tricks".
*
Hehehee..yes, no awards since it is only for fun biggrin.gif

Make them into categories rclxm9.gif

...btw, about the heaviest hammy, actually i have one rc at my hometown..i dunno why he grow so big.. sweat.gif we only feed him with normal hamster mix sweat.gif maybe the temperature a little cold? Hm...or maybe he got good light cycles since the cages is located at the back yard..eh, not actually a backyard, it is a modified partition of the house in which we put all of our pets there biggrin.gif

Added on April 15, 2007, 8:02 pmOr maybe...he is the dominant males in its cage? laugh.gif

I jz came back home.  Found one pinkie dead in the tank next to the nest.  She wasn't cannibalised.  Neither did she has any injuries.  So, I dunno wud's da cause of her death but then again, she's the tiniest among the 7 siblings.  Should I remove her dead body ?
*
maybe malnutrition? remove the dead body as hun said...because a dead carcass will promotes bacteria growth and it is unhelathy to other hammy in that cage

I don't think hamsters and small pets like gerbils are suitable for most children. So far I've only sold hams to 2 ppl who bought for their children but know how to handle and supervise when the children are around.

I've seen what kids can do with their pulling and squeezing. One of my dog hates children due to them annoying him some years ago.
*
yeah..the kids also love to tap around my hammy tank...it made my hammy so affraid..and if the kid is tall enough, they put their hand inside the tank and try to catch my hammy...unlucky all my hammy are all tame. I really hope that my hammy will bite them..but what happen whenever the kid got bite? ---> they scold the hammy sad.gif

none taken.

I was saying it in a joking way dude. Please don't be over sensitive/protective. If I was out to insult you, I would have continued to talk about it even after for so long you didn't reply lar...  notworthy.gif

I didn't go 'hey, pls don't act pro on giving him 2 wives because they'll breed like mad and you'll never be able to take of them at all'.. -.-"

When I said 'u you prepared to handle the babies ah?', I didn't meant that you couldn't.. it was more or less a 'rhetorical' question only. I'm sure you're capable of handling them. Pls calm down..

sheesh... now i say, pls dun think that people are always out to insult you or think that you don't have brain. As i've said before in earlier posts.. I envy those that are capable of breeding hamsters as I can't do so myself.

If I know you're so sensitive, perhaps I shall not reply to any of your comments in the future.

no offense as well.
*
nope, Im not that sensitives or ego...or else. And for ur question "are u prepared?", yes, Im already spare 2 tank and 2 feedings bottles form them. Yes, i also dun like the newbie and backyard breeder in which they breed their hamster like there is no tomorrow., just for their own profit. For ur info, all the offsprings from this pairs will be given to my frens. All of them will be train first before adoption on the basic way to handles the hamster. Im doing this because at least i have something to share with my fellow fren, and they also will share the same things too with others.

Thats is why we have this thread to share our experiences and giving the opinions to helps each others laugh.gif less or least, most of ppl gain their knowledge from a small² thread like what we have here.

QUOTE(Syrian @ Apr 23 2007, 09:29 AM)
why will have pus?? U din clean the bedding often ??
*
often clean the bedding is not a problem here. what i guess is, the hammy is placed in a tank with its tank mates, and it is normal to have a small fight [playing] as their daily routine. As a result, it might land a minor cuts [scratches] on its skins or even on eyes. Due to bacteria penetration on that wounded sites, it will produces a pus-like discharges; as a normal body defenses system against foreign materials and in this case; bacteria for example, and of course the bacteria is present is normally present at almost part in this world and even in our guts.

So, please clean the infected area, and if it is serious, please take vet's advise and maybe the antibiotics treatment is needed.
