QUOTE(Edison83 @ Nov 23 2012, 01:40 PM)
Hi sifus~ I need advice on which film I should take.

I wan above 70% VLT (I actually don't mind brighter as my eyes cant really see well at night). I also drove mainly at 11am-3pm which the sun its at its hottest time. So I be needing those film that good to block UV, IRR, and heat. Also the film gotta be smartag and GPS friendly. I also be needing the film come with security feature, so it need to be minimum 4mil, correct?

Lets assume I can pay high price, which model/brand/type I should get?

Thanks in advance.

Added on November 23, 2012, 1:51 pm

my colleague here just install 3m crystalize (or something), smartag cant use. He said need almost stop baru can hear "tit". He also mention cant even go in to those BET smartag lanes, he jammed kenot pass. So now he always lower his window to use smartag... kinda beat the point of having smartag. XD
*
For FWS and RWS u cant apply for Security film bro.
Go for International brand if u have budget & If u want 100% Smart Tag, GPS, Autogate friendly then go for Huper Optik thumbup.gif

For your colleague's car, sad story.
Original 3M Crystalline and V-kool Elite u need to drive very2 slow for pass the Smart Tag, if the toll receiver bad then u will be the Smart Tag Way Blocker tongue.gif

If the warranty period still valid just go back to V-kool Branch to claim warranty bro... don't waste...

After this few days I research for the best film for my car.... There is no "best" film. If the film good at handling heat, it doesn't comply with smartag. Material that used in film also counted.

In short, u gain something, you lose something. biggrin.gif Simply just choose which best suit your preference.

Currently I think that I am considering theses two options since the wife wants to have security as well:

1) FWS & RWS: V-Kool Elite, Sides: V-Kool Secure
2) FWS & RWS: LLumar AVS70, Sides: LLumar Diamond 6

Which brand would be a better choice in term of price, warranty and longevity?

I like the fact that V-Kool has a higher VLT but my concerns for V-Kool are Smart Tag friendly and oxidation after long term usage.
*
If only this 2 package then just go for package 1 but not 100% Smart Tag friendly hmm.gif

On paper LLumar AVS & Diamond 6 look like they are on par with V-Kool. Their cheaper films are indeed inferior but I'm not sure how much is the AVS & Diamond 6.
*
Sorry bro... the llumar spec in Malaysia is different with their Global spec... get what i mean ?

Hi, I'm from Ipoh and this coming Thursday I'll be getting my new car.....

Been searching around Ipoh for the window tinting solution....

Finally end up only 2 choices Agard and Cooltintz

Cooltintz quoted me RM1300 10mil with IRR 95% reduction (which I tested with my hands, which I think is not fake )
Agard quoted me RM2500 3.5mil with IRR  90% reduction (didn't test it because no machine to test)

I heard many people say Cooltintz is fake one, so any other recommendation besides this 2????

Thanks for the advice~~~~
*
If only this 2 then go for Agard but you can go for other International brand for the price hmm.gif

Normally how much would it be? And where I can get cheaper ones?

And also why option 2?
SA told me there is not much difference between the two.
Pening. Dunno which to choose as one is 10 yrs warranty another is 5. :s

Warranty 7, 10, 15, 20 years is their marketing tactic ler sweat.gif
The price already mark up 9 9 for the SA rclxub.gif

Meaning the solar guard is not worth 1k? SA showed me the price list for it and it's 1880. If give me 1k and still mark up 9 9 means the thing is seriously very cheap?!?

But 2.2k is very exp >.<
*
RM1k for Solar Gard is still ok, not much mark up.
But for V-kool Winshield RM2.2k is abit higher, you u try ask lonely quote for you.
