Don't use the brakes going down hill. My father once decend down a 40 degree ramp(carpark ramp) and his feet wasn't even slightly tapping the brakes. He lets the engine do the job fully. The car was at a constant speed going down and no brakes were applied. He just puts his foot on the brake in case of an emergency.

You can go to Genting with this I believe. My family made a trip to Frasers hill(close enough to genting? Forgot already. ), no probs going down or up the one way hill road.

Just use L, or D2. I'm not saing that your uncle should leave the brakes out completely, it just that if he uses engine braking, he'll find that he doesn't have to use his brakes as much. Or if the slope is short enough, he won't have to use it at all!! But it depends on the driver's feel.

Nah, that was just to clear out talks about Myvi's brakes being problematic and useless when going down hill.

It's been over 20 years and people still talk about Wira.

Oh and forgot one thing, he said better buy a 2nd hand Jap car. Well a Myvi is basically a facelifted Passo. The technology is Japanese and most of the components are Jap as well. So rather than buying a 2nd hand Jap, why not buy a new Jap(Myvi)?

Technically......yes.
Although of lower quality, still they are japs at heart.
