Yes, you can search vowifi feature on digi / umobile website.
This is quite useful feature for poor phone line biggrin.gif
*
Very, very, useful. Provided that if it works reliably.

Damn, after saw someone posted the latest Samsung VOLTE supported list from Maxis, just try to change my Maxis simcard into my S9+ to try it out.

And it really shows the VOLTE icon once the device is switch on, without need to change any setting at all...
*
Lucky you, my wife s9+ still haven't got VoLTE, even with restart and updates. cry.gif

QUOTE(cskean @ Nov 14 2020, 11:47 PM)
I too cannot tahan the answer and straight hang up the call...

Cause no point talking further when you know the one you talk to has no idea of what they are talking about of...  ranting.gif  ranting.gif

Indeed, totally no point talking further. Waste of time.

If it wasn't they give me unlimited data plan, I would have switch all my lines to other telco!!!
*
The unlimited data plan is one of the few reasons why some people prefer maxis over other telcos.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 15 2020, 12:30 AM)
This is true. It even works on the plane ! I was connected to Digi WiFi Calling on the plane somewhere over India when connected to the plane's WiFI and a few SMS came in.
*
Ikr. It's just super convenient. Why maxis why u very stingy to upgrade your communication technology cry.gif

Add on, as an ex staff in a Singapore telco, voice LTE has to be enabled for the user too through the CRM.
*
Since that's the case, I wonder if maxis is going to support older phone model like phones from 5 years before (with volte on hardware front obviously). I can accept that the current pandemic hinders things here and there, but the way how they tackle it is kinda slow and messed up. Other than "time will tell", what are your thoughts?

If it depends on device manufacturers to upgrade firmware then chance is thin. You know how good is Android device manufacturers in firmware support.  bye.gif
*
Agree. There's the problem on user end as well, I forgot most android manufacturers only support 2 years firmware update while some provide an additional of one year for security update only. Yeah, chance is slim cry.gif

Many Maxshit staff still don't know what is VoLTE.
The quality of the staff they hire in line with the service level they are rendering now.

The sh!t is real. More users will rage quit if the rolling out process is too slow.

I’m doubt that they’ll enable VoLTE our 4 years old Galaxy Note 5 no security patches since 2020 fingers crossed
Only Digi VoLTE is supporting
Yes Maxis and Samsung totally messing up to enable VoLTE even some doesn’t get VoLTE after update one 3.0 on S20
*
Wish maxis volte provisioning would be more generic like my phone riding on India Vodafone modem preset to use digi volte and vowifi. Time will tell.

What kind of phone is that? Never heard before .. if popular brand having difficulty getting VoLTE support, don't think those rare breed will get it.
*
Its Redmi phone under Xiaomi. There's a list of vowifi supported device under digi. Xiaomi's phones have never been listed. My phone can use volte with digi out of the box, but to get vowifi running I have to root and do some tweaking by using India / UK Vodafone modem config.

Digi and Umobile they stop listing supported smartphones i think cause too many, all new one can support Digi and Um volte so no point to list anymore... only those new kids on the block in volte like celcom and Maxis will list it ... for a period of time.
*
Exactly. As for volte, digi and umo don't provide volte list since in general they literally support all new phones.

However, Digi still keep a specific list for vowifi and in digi's forum many are asking when they're going to support other devices. Even on lowyat forum can see a number of users (Mi 10/10T/Pro, Poco F2 Pro, Oneplus 8/Pro) testified that vowifi is not supported out of the box.

On the other hand, umobile, they don't have a list for vowifi supported devices. I think they generally support all devices unlike digi. Even my AP set (China) phone have umo modem config built-in, which I think, I can use umo vowifi right away if I put in umo sim card.

Putting in my wife's maxis simcard to my phone can get volte. But my own simcard still no VoLTE cry.gif

At least I know that maxis volte works on my current phone (Redmi k30 pro zoom China), eventhough it's not in the supported device list. Perhaps it has exactly the same chipset as poco f2 pro that I get the volte as well. I even tried my wife's simcard into my previous samseng Note8 phone, no luck.

Maxis side is easier for subscriber like us to bully, just call 123 and say "i'm a loyal customer, i pay you premium, i will port out if you don't give me VoLTE" then high chance can get it.
But try do that to Samsung, Apple, and other brands ... will get middle finger from them  tongue.gif .
*
That never came across my mind before but it's true 😆

QUOTE(lwl_80 @ Jan 5 2021, 03:01 PM)
hm... i am using fold2, and recently ported over to Digi. i get VoLTE and VoWIFI when i just put in digi sim card. this confuses me as in the control is within the telco itself for enabling VoLTE to users or the phone manufacturer.
VoWIFI is really godsent for me as my house has really bad reception irregardless of which carrier it is.
*
At first some of us think that's how it works but actually its the modem config for baseband that needs to be updated on phone manufacturers end. Otherwise iPhone 5 and 6 would support maxis volte as well. Of course telco must provision/enable volte for the line too.

And I totally agree vowifi is godsend.

Been facing this since last year but intermediate. I just recently change new phone also same issue. Tried with and without VoLTE also encounter same issue.

Not sure it is related with sim card??? anybody face before? hmm.gif
*
Had similar issues, and it happened not all the time but quite frequent between June to August last year. Me using redmi k30 pro zoom while my brother using Samsung note8.

digi postpaid 58 only have 15gb, 80 have 40gb, but their prepaid plan get the same quota with half the price lol
*
I thought digi prepaid next 40gb is only available for a certain period of time since it's a promo and not auto-renewable? Was tempted to get that one too but end up getting other digi prepaid plan instead.

QUOTE(p4n6 @ Feb 16 2021, 05:29 PM)
Another confused user.
You need to talk to Xiaomi not Maxis on this problem.
Xiaomi does not want to enable VoLTE for Maxis user.

Furthermore, i checked your phone model is not even listed on their website, what to complain? Buy new phone sajalah ...
Initially I thought is Maxis problem ... now I know is user problem  doh.gif
*
Xiaomi is a bit terbalik I think. Their latest line of device (starting from 2020) get maxis volte first, but digi vowifi was only supported after the latest update early this month (unless the phone is rooted). At least, that's what happened to Mi 10 and a some poco phones from what I read. Better late than never though.

QUOTE(l.ukecas @ Feb 17 2021, 01:58 PM)
Funny, my phone is certified volte and vowifi worldwide after few months of its release, only Malaysia carrier disabled it because not many people using poco f1 in Malaysia. If my phone not supported then previous digi and umobile is called using what? satellite? tbh even tho this isn't serious kopitiam ur just making yourself looking stupid.
*
That's not how it works unfortunately. Every phone has a list of supported baseband and telco config which is kinda limited. If the telco volte/vowifi config isn't generic, and our phone don't have that particular telco/modem config, then we are out of luck.

QUOTE(l.ukecas @ Feb 17 2021, 02:17 PM)
See how fast digi is, less than 5 mins in livechat queue, and 30 seconds to tell cs to enable volte. Unlike telco M, spent 1 week to receive a generic reply.
*
If u r rooted, can get vowifi too. But since your 4g signal is full, don't bother.

QUOTE(chengsiong80 @ Feb 17 2021, 02:24 PM)
I tried that last month on the prepaid Next 30 plan, it is not auto renew. but u still can subscribe the plan again if it is still available.
But i changed my prepaid plan to Digi Prepaid Live and subscribe the biGBonus 28 which come with 4gb and unlimited calls. 2GB can be roll over every month if u top up enough for the plan to renew automatically. Can roll up to 100gb.
*
Great minds think alike. End up with bG28 too 😄, after reading some feedbacks that 40gb plan is not renewable and limited.
