I heard that GTX 1060 , 1070 price also drop kah? How much for my curiosity?  hmm.gif
*
Nothing announced on 1070 and 1060 but logic dictates that their prices would be affected considering the FE versions are currently $449 and $299 respectively compared to the reduced 1080 price of $499.

Nevermind, I'm happy with 1050 Ti but if 1060 really dropped below RM999 for others who are on time, they will be able to grab the 3GB version.
*
With GTX1080 at $499 and GTX1070 unadjusted at $449, no need PhD to tell you which one people will buy. Assume GTX1070 price is dropped to $359, GTX1060's current price of $299 may have to drop a bit lor, maybe to $249

Looking at how much Zotac has "adjusted" on the RRP of their GTX1080 line, I won't hold my breathe waiting for a drop equivalent to $100

I cant wait anymore, been delaying CPU upgrade for 1-2 years already ( thanks to Skylake and Kabylake's uninteresting improvement ).
Unless Intel jump out and confirm their Cannonlake will have mainstream high clock 8 cores processor @ i5 pricing, I care less  whistling.gif

So? Ryzen 7? Benches coming out thus far not showing better performance for gaming though compared to Intel's lineup. For productivity e.g. encoding, editing, yes

I'm no longer put gaming at first priority. Ryzen 7 gaming performance lag behind Kabylake but not far, given that Kabylake have much higher clock speed. However I do gain extra 4 physical cores and 8 threads, which will be extremely useful for photo processing etc.
*
Yup, agreed. The Ryzen 7 1800x FTW! Nvidia new drivers expected to improve DX12 soon

I would expect the first batch of 1080ti in the market will kena the same caveat like the 1080, "Sale only with PC".

+1, seem is a nice plan, I wait a bit longer until volta and Intel cannon lake i7 series come out first, then complete change new system, maybe that time 60 inch TV have better spec & tech, as well as upgrade sound system to dolby atmos home theater.  biggrin.gif

When that time comes, there will be something better around the corner whistling.gif

Then I rather pay extra for local warranty.

Wise decision. I only buy online from overseas for things that cannot be gotten locally or if the savings was really attractive.

EDIT : Forgot to mention, have been on driver 378.78 since the weekend. So far, no issues to report

What?! GTX 1070 can't drive X34? I think with average 50 fps + Gsync is good enough to game in 1440p.

I'm using GTX 1070 and planning to buy X34a le...  rclxub.gif

Depending on game and settings, 40-60 fps from 1070 on X34 should not be a problem.

yeah i means the 3440 X 1440. Looks kinda vertically narrow to me. I did measure it from show room before, the height is slightly shorter than our standard 16:9 monitor. (27" 1080p)
haha ya, not 'tall' enough, so don't have the 'immense' feel.

Anyway just my own opinion..
*
3440 x 1440 gets you more viewing area. To give you an idea, refer to the pix. That means in game, you will be able to see more

I'm curious though, anyone actually try or owned both xb271HU and x34a. Wondering which actually gives more satisfying gaming experience 165hz or 34" 100hz ultrawide, if money is not issue and you have a juicy rig.
*
From 60Hz to 100Hz (as in the case of the X34a), there will be very noticeable "smoothness". From 100Hz to 144Hz, the "improvement" will not be too noticeable for "normal" folks. Can't comment about 165Hz though.

In any case, XB271HU is not ultrawidemaster whistling.gif
