Exhaust only nothing else ...when to service center and ask for check ...all ok nothing wrong ...they used the laptop to check ...but they warned me ..no race chip or ecu mods ...plug n play also then can detect ...I was thinking of removing the speed cut but then scared in case anything happen ....I only have kn air filter and full exhaust system that's all....really puas hati .....0 to 100 clocked around 7 or 7.2 without air con on captured on video ....but u need to get experts to do it for u...it took me 2 days to complete but worth every cent ...The acceleration ...no complaints ....anyway this is what I have done not intending to race or out tapau anyone ...just feel the thrill ...good day guys
*
What gear mode you use? What's the day temperature? If you did at early morning 25-26C, 7-7.2 is kinda slow considered what you modded. Of course I don't know what exhaust you put, catless? High flow? Muffler type? Resonator delete?

Elantra Sport can hit this time easily on cool day. Even Civic stock is possible if you drive around slowly 50-60 to chill your intercooler first and do one best 0-100 in the cool day.

Fastest mode for Civic CVT is not Sport mode, it is L. At L it shift like D without emulate the gear change, but higher rpm. Haha, hope I don't create trouble for myself for spreading this, more Civic turbo kacau my Elantra Sport with new learned tricks.

I think with your mod, you has potential to hit 6 if you get a good launch at good environment.

To each his own, really. The pickup is not amazing since it still weighs 1400kg, but it builds up speed effortlessly due to the turbo. There's of course good potential for more power if you decide to mod it down the road. Based on my experience, the Sport mode only makes the shifts more crisps, hold the gears at higher RPMs, slightly increased throttle response (could be just me), and heavier steering. Standard stuff. It also uses a smaller turbo, so not much lag and not much turbo spool 'shove'.

I've also test driven the Mazda 3 and most of what you say is right. It's got a better interior and is cheaper, the gearbox is pretty good, but I was left a bit cold during the test drive. It handled well, but not as good as the Elantra to me, and I'm pretty sure the Elantra is generally faster. Of course, I've not tried the newer one with the G-vectoring so I can't say how much it has improved. The Mazda 3 would have got my money if it had a perkier engine.

Brand/make aside, 200hp and a DCT at RM135k is a pretty good deal to me. And I really liked how the car rode and handled. It's just a more fun car compared to the Civic or Mazda which I tried. It ticked all the right boxes for me. Some people are gonna bash the RV, Korean reputation or whatnot. But at the end of the day, buy whichever makes you happy, no?
*
More like Sport mode give you back the supposed throttle response. Remember modern cars are electronic throttle. The peddle you step is just a sensor, you can technically replace it with a joystick.

Normal mode dampen the input. Any spike of action is normalized. Eco mode dampen it further. That gives you the smoothen response.

Sport mode send your input immediately to the throttle body.

Mazda3 handling vs Elantra Sport is hard to judge, depends on your feeling. But both hands down best handling in sub 140k range.

Elantra Sport is significantly faster than Mazda3. You will need the 2.5L Skyactive to keep up with Elantra Sport.

There is no reason why they should charge RM800 for black leather. Or is this a new trick? Offer something so ugly that buyers will pay extra to change it?

Oh, lovely! Here you are. I mistakenly took someone as you few days back. Hahaha

It's surprisingly quiet and refined. Almost too silent for me even (given that it's a sporty car).
*
Have you try high speed?

Wind noise at bare minimum, even at 180 still surprisingly quiet. 160 is a relax drive.

The Ventus Prime 2 tire is quite noisy though. At high speed it is rolling noise and rolling noise and rolling noise.

I believe the Elantra is electronically limited to around 210km/h.

The Veloster Turbo with similar drivetrain can hit around 240km/h, so a ECU tune for the Elantra should give similar top speed.
*
215km/h

I thought so too, since it asked me to drive a while to get the reading.

After searched the part list, I was wrong.

Got LSD. For me this is the biggest upgrade over the conventional Civic and Elantra Sport.

BTW, possible to install LSD on Elantra Sport DCT?

Not sure this one fit. Major project, but I think service center most likely won't find out.

I would have gladly paid extra 10k for the ES if it had a LSD, like the US-market Civic Si. I actually read about the Cusco and Quaife LSDs on the Veloster, but so far it has only been used in the manual transmission. No data whatsoever on the DCT and then again, it's a pricey and complex job which requires removal of the entire transmission tunnel.

To be fair, you wouldn't really need it unless you are pushing tight corners on a track at the limit.

Did a quick check. Unfortunately, they are different.

Not impossible, just whether you want to spend enough moolah to modify....
*
I think he meant quarter miles drag. Almost 400m.

On average, Elantra Sport 0.5s ahead at about 150km/h. That should be comfortable 15m-20m distance apart.

But 0.5s if his reaction slow, still lose to Civic.

So common mentality is wrong?
Similiar case with toyota. Why aunty uncle die die prefer toyota than other brand? Same question here.
*
Aunty uncle know nothing about cars. My family elders all pro Toyota. No need test drive, Toyota = Best. All they look at are those they can physically touch like wood trim, infotainment, seat soft or not (know nothing about support and ergonomic), FC and reliability just listen to SA myth, tire want cheap replacement. Tried to explain important of wheel grip, airbag and stability control kena scolded like why drive so fast, airbag expansive to replace. Worst is order without test drive, this is deadly.

My generation started to rebel. Mazda, Hyundai, more to come. We have been upsetting the older folks in the family until one day they sit in my car 660km highway. Shut their mouth, highway can be stable without boat ride. Not our skill problem, it is the car suspension and weak chassis. Been blaming us don't know how to drive for so many years.

TGNA will change this, thanks to the healthy competition globally. If not the rise of Korean car, Altis and Camry would still give you 2 airbag and VSC only at top trim.

Civic turbo is good car too, no doubt. Civic 1.5T or Elantra Sport are the 2 best options at 130K price range. Either one depends on preference. Just don't waste your money on Salphy or Altis kinda thing. Wait for new platform if you insist on the Toyota or Nissan brand. If you drive Civic or Elantra once, you know how dangerous are the older Corolla platforms. The body delay 0.5s to your steering input especially on the S curve. In emergency this could be succesdully avoid vs accident already.

Aiya, I bought Elantra Sport for its fun to drive and affordability. Don't want to spend anything more that my annual pay on a car, else there are more hardcore options out there.

35s is not spectacular. Elantra Sport stock 31-32s, that is still significantly slower that BRZ or a Golf GTi. 200hp are meaningless against a real monster.

So just enjoy your car and stop bragging the 207. It is a good economic car with little bit of fun factor. Just stop imagining it is a sporr car.

Ok ok, SPORTY family c segment economic sedan. Both Civic Turbo and Elantra Turbo same, same rclxs0.gif

Just that, yalah yalah. Civic turbo top speed 207km/h, and it took 35s for 0-200km/h. You and me, as well as the rest very likely already remember the number. laugh.gif kena brain wash kaw kaw.
