Because from what I noticed, they always announce they can give 10% la, 12% la but reserve 5%..... Whats the point? What with the 5%? You let it roll? We investor never know where the 5 go? Since the 5 is not in the form of reinvest? Where are all the reserve go? In report no mentioned also.

Market wont be bad for 2 3 years. at most 1 year like now in which very shitty condition....Most of the year will get 8 or 9 why not? bad years 3 is ok.

you got to look into how asnb function..... what field they invest.... which stocks they hold..... type of investment..... and latest benchmark........

i already do some calculation. with reserve, we earn less. without reserve we earn more becasue of the compunding interest!!!

A ponzi only happen if there is no investment but paying out dividend. ASx has audited financial statements showing clearly the income and dividend distribution. Eg ASW still has RM26M and RM53m reserves after declaring dividend for 2017 and 2016 respectively.

My only concern is the FS only show the income statement and cashflow statement. It does not show the balance sheet i.e. how much reserves accumulated over the years and where they are being used. Perhaps this is the grey area where reserves have been used for political things.

Not all companies are created equal. 1MDB involve very complicated structure of monies moving around shell companies. You wont believe the complexity until you actually see it. I know because I have been the auditor for Renong and UEM many moons ago. It's really....complicated.

As for ASx, how difficult could it be? Dividend and interests received. Buy and sell stocks. All got audit trail. Even Chinaman audit firm also can do the audit.

So if somebody say ASx looks like a ponzi showing lack of knowledge about the product and basic accounting principles.
