How to know if it's FTTH, VDSL or ADSL connection I'm currently on (Unifi 30Mbps)? I try googling can't find proper explanation or maybe the explanation beyond my understanding

QUOTE(ZyD86 @ Feb 23 2017, 07:44 PM) Normally, FTTH is for landed house unless your highrise is fully fibre. The fibre will be direct to your house. Highrise normally using FTTB which is fibre is lay from the nearest exchange to the building MDF..and from MDF to ur house is using copper(VDSL). Due to this, most highrise is capped to 30mbps only.. Oh, so I think my is FTTH because landed house and it's directly from a pole behind my house, and assuming TM has higher package in future, how much speed can FTTH hold? Or is impossible to say because of back-end infrastructure?

QUOTE(kkm @ Feb 23 2017, 07:51 PM) If you're on Unifi 30mbps, then you're not on ADSL (Streamyx) for sure. If you're in a high rise building, then it's most likely VDSL. If in a landed property with your line feeding from a pole or pit outside your house, then you're on FTTH. ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) and VDSL (Very high bit rate Digital Subscriber Line) both provide broadband services by "piggy-backing" on a normal copper phone line, so the limited speeds. FTTH is Fibre To The Home, which brings broadband to your home via full speed optical fibre. Thanks, now kinda understanding. Yeah mine directly from pole

QUOTE(sg999 @ Mar 1 2017, 12:18 AM) Just checked with surprise page again: An update: Your UniFi will be upgraded from February 2017 onwards Previouly msg was shown come back check on MARCH 2017. Same message here, I thought we need to accept some sort of confirmation for speed upgrade like previously?
