Just have my Unifi ADV30 package installed few days ago with router D-Link DIR-850L. Just wonder if I need to change DNS to Google DNS for both ipv4 & ipv6? See empty for both the DNS at the setup page of DIR-850L.

Any impact if we don't set the DNS accordingly??

New to this and need help. Thanks all sifu for the advise.

if you dont set them,it'll automatically use TM's DNS
if you set them to use OpenDNS or Google DNS, it'll help you to bypass some restricted/banned site (porn site etc2) and a bit of "speed boost" to your connection

Thanks bro. How about ipv6? Use Google DNS or Open DNS? Which one better?

Few branded routers from D-LINK, TP LINK, ASUS and etc. ASUS is always my first choice as they are very reliable and user freindly.

Budget and strong coverage - ASUS RT-N12HP - RM 210

If your friend need to HD streaming with Set Top Box/TV box without/min lag, try this router

ASUS RT-AC1200G+ price - RM399.

This router work flawlessly with my Mi Box 3 Gen 6 on Unifi 30Mbps.

Both ASUS router above are UNIFI certified. Just provide UNIFI Username and Password and the shop assistant can help you to configure the router. Just replaced the stock router, power up the router and here you go....

In fact you can configure the router yourself if you have time to google the procedure over the internet. It is not that difficult either.
