EPC and check engine lights been on for few days

Should I bring to workshop?

Funny thing is, the car automatically "healed" overnight

the check engine light will be off the next morning

so I assume it has no prob for the past few days

just kept driving it

then today while speeding until 180 kmh,

suddenly both EPC n check engine lights turned on,

whole car started to rattle like one dog

low gear especially creates big vibrations

have to go up to D6, D7 only can reduce the vibrations

What could possibly be the problem?

What to do? Poor man's sports car is like that, traded reliability for your speeding syok factor at such low cost, haha... You can buy how many Jaguar or Porsche at such price?

VW offer buy back. Want to try newer VW?

Or just push it off the cliff and claim total lost.

usually this kind of sensor is related to the engine heat..once the engine is warmed up and reach certain temperature, the sensor will be activated.

edited: epc is engine speed sensor.

Seems like a serious problem to me. Reliability isn't really a strong point for volkswagen.

get the OBD II bluetooth connector off Ebay - its like RM50 or less from China. Connect it and get the error code. Then google the error code. Never listen to wannabe 'sifus' from this forum. The error code is what matters, but looks like you have already got damage. Tow it to VW authorised dealer, and claim under warranty. VWs are too complex to be touched by anyone other than someone equipped with a very expensive diagnostic tool from VW. Something anyone buying a VW should know........

Change to forged piston and upgrade to stage 2. Why waste money on a new car.

What can he do with the error code? He still need to bring to workshop to fix. So may as well take to workshop now and let them diagnose the error. Since the car is no longer under warranty take to outside VW specialist instead of wasting time here listening to half-baked advice about buying an OBDII reader.

Thanks for the advice

unfortunately the engine has totally failed

either overhaul or engine rebuilt is the only way to resurrect the car which I don't plan to do.

Replacing it with a 6er icon_rolleyes.gif
