QUOTE(samuraikacang @ Feb 14 2017, 04:02 PM) anything vomited by tankerbell12345 should be ignored. JeweL_ you just need to exercise regularly, swimming or walking or running, watch your calories intake and source of calories. High fibre diet will make your bowel movement easier. You don't need white sugar to function. Carbs are fine but no overindulge. you can function without Carbs but you won't be happy. discuss with doctor on drugs option. For a young DM like you, drugs like victoza or bydureon can helps your pancreas. technically incorrect. because certain body cell(heart and kidney) only takes glucose(a type of sugar) as energy source. many other cells can be adequately happy burning fatty acid and ketone as source of energy. the correct phrase should be don't need to consume refined sugar. carb = set of complex and simple sugar.

QUOTE(JeweL_ @ Feb 16 2017, 04:13 PM) Hi guys. Just finish see doctor. She said one month ago when I was newly discovered, my hb1ac is 11.5 Today is 8.8... Kidney, hormones all OK. And changing my metformin to metformin xr. She say I can finish my current medicine, 2 x 850 in the morning. 1 x 850 in the evening. So after finish this I will eat metformin xr in the morning only. 1 month from last hba1c.......hmm......ok i guess. would be interesting to see the hba1c result 3 months after starting medication.

QUOTE(JeweL_ @ Feb 17 2017, 01:02 AM) because hba1c reflects the average blood sugar for past 3 months. so the hba1c 1 month apart would not show the actual value of the average blood sugar while under medication. (as you are just newly diagnosed 1 month ago and started medication 1 month ago.) and when you do the hba1c on the beginning of 4th month since starting medication, you can compare the hba1c with the ideal hba1c for diabetic which is about or slightly lesser than 6.5%.

QUOTE(Docile @ Dec 27 2018, 09:45 AM) Just curious, can diabetic consume dates? aka kurma It's sweet.. Haiz. Didn’t go for diabetic counseling and diabetic diet education? The answer is depends. Diabetic diet is based on each individual allowed “bread unit”. Every food item and quantity has certain assigned bread unit. So whether allowed to eat or not depends on the bread unit the person is allowed to eat.

QUOTE(Docile @ Dec 27 2018, 10:13 AM) I'm not a diabetic, but i like to eat kurma Especially when i'm on low carb diet, kurma is the only sweet thing i consume... So im wondering if consuming too much of it will cause diabetes or not... The cause of diabetis is often complex and not due to one single reason.
