In This War of Mine for the first time you do not play as an elite soldier, but a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of necessities and constant danger.


During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge for items that will help you stay alive.







Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better

The game focuses not only on the reality of enduring war, but also the fact that even in times of conflict, kids are still kids – they laugh, cry, play with toys and see the world differently.

In addition to thinking about survival, you’ll have to bring back the kid in yourself to understand how to protect the little ones. Their faith, and their futures, are in your hands.

Just downloaded that game last Sat. Need to get used to the game mechanics on this. Kinda blur when I first started it

yeah. i did so many play throughs just to get used to it. the sneaking, tools, what to build first.

finally playing properly now and on day 22-23. its gooding.

just need to keep finding/trading for ammo because people keep trying to raid the house but get shot... always waste ammo...

i just said 'this game looks cool'

think this game not suit me, first thing I did was raid some old couple house, punched them till death and rob their house.

this game is quite realistic in that regard. where hard to find food and water and stuff. and people have emotions.

like when i rob the old peoples home. clear out 50% of the stuff and dont touch the medicines and leave some food. if i took all, everyone depression/broken. not worth it. everywhere i loot, just take what i need (mainly materials) and mostly dont kill anyone.

I needed food, they had tons...might as well put them out of misery...

MANATAU the character got feels 1, all sad and depressed and all, maximum guild trip me

I start off with story mode and Bruno died coz trying to steal something in a shelter with a woman and his dad.

She said: Don't try anything funny
Bruno: What is this shinny things in this box here?
She: Stop and leave now!
Bruno: Starts digging her loots

She took out a gun and Bruno fights back. Bruno dies. Game over.

its a good game. Lots of task and planning to do. And is pretty realistic too. Really makes you feel like trapped in a warzone trying to survive.

Whaaaa so fast? I never check the trophy list yet, I think there is a special mode you need to do to plat the game:

Start with one grandma, one grandpa, and 2 little ones. 80 days with conflict level medium, but early winter. Survive with all 4 people alive. This one is hidden trophy. You will only see it when you complete the game this way.

when i first start, thought boring. but you will get addicted when your people start doing well and then you keep building stuff and upgrading.

so far im on day 22.

Bruno, Pavle, Marco, Emilia.

All healthy, only 2 sad, and none tired. and all hungry.. hahaha. they never not hungry...

so far only killed 1 person. but that person shot first. so in self defence Marco killed that guy and took his shotgun. so no depression/sadness.

Its really fun lah. you gotta put in the time and go thoruhg.

we even do party chat while we play hahahahah. even more fun! can hear kawan yelling 'RUN BORIS RUN!!!!'

You can check the traits for each character below the name..lets say bruno is a good cook..so he can cook with less resource..or some other guy who has combat-trained traits..this one can kill people without remorse..try to find place for scavenge that have the stuff u need..if food then go to place that show lots of food or huge amount of it..first 10 days its normal to steal

Dunno la coz the previous one which is the main story mode never got death at all during winter..even got some1 sick..this one all sudden froze to death haha..that is the next day after bruno n boris got drunk

they said should always restock the fire at night. temp will drop another 2-4 deg. so maybe he just KO from that.

Glad everyone is liking the game. I was one of the outsourced QA (received early code) for this game and it's sweet to see how far this game has came in terms of polishing.

Right from where it was a concept on the PC, where the team has went in and fixed bugs after bugs, after bugs and AFTER MORE bugs by all of our whining from the QA side.

Now if only they can find a way to enable mods for the PS4....

There were many more things they actually wanted to include into the game (few of which were trickled in via free updates since its launch) btw. But in this case, less is more.

Done 2 playthrough n i make weapon trading as main income.. go sapu those danger zone can get me like 4-5 assault rifle, shotgun n handgun..can beat the game easily actually if u discard the conscience or self-righteousness just go rampage everywhere disregard whether the people innocence or not..

Marko n boris has the same traits but both too emo to do bad stuff (we're at war dude!!) if its a danger areas i sent Roman to do the killing..only then i sent boris to clean up the stuff there

It was an unbelievable experience for me..it robs my whole last weekend..its like a drug n not good for work productivity for sure..who create this game?wanna throw my money to their face n tell them 'this shyte freakin good..go make the same-content game+rpg style(TLOU for example) and take my money)

Heck some of us hooked to it n even forgo our current fav game..while 1 of them spend 12 hours str8 without stopping hahaha..mannn the survival stuff n how they manage to include the emotional reaction for every decision is just good..the replayability also high

The developer is 11 bit studios... Their most familiar game for console players is Anomaly series of games which receive good reviews. But because it's simple tower defense style game, most didn't bother trying.

Haha yes bro. It was an interesting experience. At first seems like another indy game like limbo etc. But after a few trial and error, keep wanting to plan better and prepare them for the harshness coming ahead. There's so many things to do, and different sequence has different consequences! This game even play solo wont be bored easily. The opportunity cost of making decision is going to drive some ppl up the wall. lol.

And some guy actually tried the game 12 hours straight. Wonder what the heck he was doing? Planning for apocalypse maybe.

Seems like someone went to the church to search for food and get a bible, end up getting a shotgun in the back. ROFL??

Yeap, which is why I don't whine about not getting the games that I want on PS+. Who knows what hidden gems might fall on our laps if we get rid of our must be Triple A quality graphics *cough*Pro*cough*.

the best combo i got so far is axe + assault rifle. damn brutal. chop the guy, cause knock back and then BANG BANG BANG! insta kill. but that kinda accident as i just picked up assault rifle. i also dunno how to use gun in the game hahahah.

the graphic quite nice for side scroller. but color scheme very dark that sometimes hard to see what things look like in the house. so that kinda annoying. i know its for the feel, but i know there is a stove there. but i cant even see it hahahah. unless zoom in close.

game start is random?

if you dont do custom mode.

your home/apartment is random.

players you get a random 3 people, but when restart can choose which 3 i think.

so far im trying to complete the Marco, Pavle, Bruno playthrough. got the condo unit one. prefer the house though.

I went and sneaky sneaky in the church with no weapons, den kena kantoi... end up 2v1 punch punch lol, den died, den lazy play d....

Could expand your horizons, if you like these types of games... can try FTL, Banner Saga, The Long Dark, I Am Alive... but I still feel This War of Mine is the best combinations of all these games.

We shouldn't steal ppls wood. I'm depress for stealing an abandoned house LED.. these ppl sent me out Every night while the rest 3 peckar sits and sleeps st home everyday! I bring chicken bach everyday but Bruno gets to eat first everything. Peck this group!

it is possible to use shovel and win raider with gun? Katia was dead when try to whack the raider at the house back of the church. I thought can sneak him and whack his head, he turned around, gave few punches, when try to run, he shot from the back.

But luckily I closed the game before it can auto-save

as recommended by xarz. the best is to use the axe.

so far, i've used the axe to hack my way out of a bad situation many times. including hacking people with shotguns and ARs. plus its useful to hack the furniture and collect the combustion wood.

#Real man uses bare hands. Just like Bruno did.

Went there to explore, encountered a soldier trying to take advantage of a girl
Conversation goes something like this:

S: That's a pretty name for a pretty face
S: What are you doing here?
G: Just trying to find some food..
S: I know where to get some, in exchange for a favor
G: I'm afraid I can't...
S: Ofcourse you can! We're gonna dine and have some fun together! (Soldier approaches the girl)
*Something like that lah, den I opened the door to backstab!
G: HELP MEE!!!
S: What's going on!


Open the door behind the soldier with the soldier's back facing me, thought I could backstab him...

The bloody beeach I was trying to save went and scream HELP MEE!! Dumb blonde don't know I wanna surprise attack At this point of time the soldier already knows got someone trying to be Batman behind him..

Soldier turns around, assault rifle drawn
Ms. Screamo Stupiditi sprints pass the soldier, out the door and legged it
Soldier unloads assault rifle to the back of my spine when I try to sprint the opposite direction to lari

10/10 would never do good in the game again..

I can never made it pass 20 days without restarting.. The winter and bandits didn't kill me. Wrongly placed furniture did.

furniture i just hentam put anywhere lah. but try to put most of the things in 1 room (heater, workbench, stove, radio. then easier for me to do it all quickly.

at the end i was trying to get everyone drunk, but figured out, drinking is only for the 'sad' status. so if they are not sad or worse, they cant drink. but i gave them all the food they wanted as i knew it will end on day 45. so finishing all the cans of food and also dont bother with scavenging for the last 3-5 days. hahaha. especially since marco got shot on day 40 hahahah.

in the end all got OK ending. only my bruno got the best ending for his character. I guess cause he did well to console Marco (little biatch) so many times...

Haha true. No point scavenging if only left 4-5 days. Just survive based on ready ratio.

Enjoy the journey. Not the ending. I have more fun restarting and trying new methods rather than seeing the final story of the character. It challenges the most-ideal-approach what to build first, what to stock first, what to prepare in game cycle first, to combat upcoming disaster 3 days from now. Plan till game over. Its not ideal, but I freaking loves it. lol.

Every chicken meat and wood counts. lol..

the wood is ok as i will chop and collect tons of it to burn. my playthrough need at least 12 wood burning to reach 24 deg. using two improved heaters and still fking cold if got 3 wood in each. drop to like 12 deg. sure get sick/freeze to death.

and once we got guns, my playthrough is 1 AR and 2 shotgun at home. no matter what raiders come, never masuk. as i work my team only 50% of the day. then minimum 2 awake at night to stand guard.

didnt get a child, but probably more useful then emilia.... but i gotta thank emilia for killing the trader. that dude had a lot of stuff!

Yes, I met the same thing when I go to supermarket for the first time. This game has many moral choices to made.

i got emilia and marko drunk. but i guess they cannot get it on. weird.... instead one sleep on floor and other on bed and zzzzzZZZZZZZ

Just realize that the basement in old town (or was it old apartment need to check) has lots of weapons part! Gotten a broken shougun, 2 broken hand gun, and multiple weapon parts. Good for early game scavanging. Just need a hatcher to open the door.

I'm at day 19. 3 adults and 1 kid(temporary? But her brother isn't back yet to find her)

All adults are sad coz I stole 1 canned & raw food. I did left some canned food. I steal because of the new kid on board.

Should I get heater, another trap, water distiller & upgrade Cooker ? What else I need?

Depends on difficulty. On your winter harshness is set to moderate, 14 to 18C should be fine.
1. Reco you get min 3 beds for maximum rest. Esp when you do 2 guards up at night or for future ppl sick/injured etc
2. Start hunting firearms. Gun, shotgun. That way u will only need one person up and the raiders will have less chance of stealing your loot.
3. Start focus on managing the "emotional" side of your group. Depends on your total days before ceasefire (40-80), the end game is about managing the emotion of your survival. Else they will do lots of things to themselves. lol. Radio, Guitar, sofa + tobacco helps for certain character. Seems like you are missing a guitar. You can find them at.... I hate spoilerers so I leave it to you to explore
4. Get one more rat trap. 2 is max so keep those trap running. Ramli Rat Burger FTW!
5. Upgrade your cooker so you use less fuel for every meal prep.
6. So many other things, but best u self explore.

Above are just some minor things to take note if you are going for the long haul. The best part of the game is when you try to find the best way to survive. Once ppl tell you the major sequence, they will have killed your joy.

I have tried 80 days till ceasefire, early winter, harsh winter, long winter, aggressive hostile. 3 adult and one kid. And I can tell you its a f***ing warzone out there. lol

I started new game, not own story so I don't know the game conditions. Thanks for the tips, shall try out.

My characters are pavle, Bruno(cigarettes) & katia(coffee). I do have books and try to follow the notes(press triangle during day time)

After you try the extreme difficulty mode, you won't want to try the lower difficult already. This one you really feel the impact of war. Every wood counts!
