i hope this is at least the length of the 1st 3 chapter of XC2 but based on the trailer, i feel like it is gonna be quite long especially if there are side quests and blade quests to do... if so, $29.99 is actually quite worth it considering the amount of addtional story and blades we are getting...

i think the story dlc and challenge mode is already worth the price of DLC and not to mention we are gonna get at least 1 more new blade(s) update (if not more) before end of the year... XC2 DLC is really putting Zelda DLC to shame eventhough it only cost $10 extra... kinda regret buying the Zelda DLC...

Clocked in 20 hours thus far and I have to say that it is incredibly enjoyable. This is THE JRPG experience that I've been looking for all this while; it invokes very pleasant memories of certain PS2 JRPGs back in high school days. Have not played the first XC before therefore I did not have much expectations. Super love how the world is crafted, the lore, the interactions no matter how stereotypical they can be, the music, well basically just everything. Only complaint is probably the map function which I think can be improved to make navigation easier. Also, the graphics can be a bit poor sometimes but apparently it's a common issue? Have done some reading online but in my experience, the game looks better in handheld mode.
Since most of you guys have already played BOTW and XC2, would you recommend that I pick up BOTW too? I have not played any Zelda games before so would it be a good introductory?
As for the expansion pass, should I get it at this point in time or after I have finished the game? Does it come with any equipments/boosts that would help earlier parts of the story?

xb 2 looks so blurry on handheld mode u sure it looks better?
i dont like zelda botw. Im glad xb2 is better and made me addicted. 175 hours and still at chapter 7.
Game is good if you're into jrpg. Story is good, character is great, soundtrack and the world is good as well. Advise to download the japanese voice over which is free, so you will play it as it is meant to be. If not you'll play the game with British voice actors which doesn't really go well, mood also not right. I tried both and compare for the first 3 hours.
You can play the game without playing the first one. But there is some relation to the first game, just a little but important. Won't tell in details because pretty much spoiler. You can just watch a summary video of the first game if you don't wanna play the first game, for some of the reference. It doesn't effect anything if you don't play the first, and you can just skip it if you want. Consider it a little bonus for those who played the first game, and nothing much is lost for those who doesn't.

How accurate is the English subtitles to the Japanese dub?
How accurate is the English subtitles to the Japanese dub?
There are some changes, like name of Homura/Pyra and a few other names. There is also some terms that is changed, not anything massive, but that's usually how localization is sadly. In Japanese dub there is like some religious words, in English they made it sounds non-religious and etc. The jokes are a bit different but sometimes almost the same. You'll notice if you watch too much anime I guess.
Im at chapter 4 right now, accidentally used two of my overdrive protocol without reading the guides first, thinking that they were common. Also used 59 common cores on Rex alone and got 5 rare blades on him. Should I restart the whole game?
How the heck did you guys clock in 300 hours for this game? I'm getting cold sweat listening to the amount of time needed to be spent. Most of you here must be completionists. Assuming that I would like to cover the main story first, how long would it take? Currently at chapter 7 (clocked in 30 hours++; I do side quests when I feel like I'm under leveled). Since someone mentioned clocking in 175 hours by chapter 7, I'm wondering whether I've missed anything major?

All depends if you explore the world more, do all the side mission first or not. I finished around 125 hours the story. Then continued further in the game to max affinity, finish all the blade quest and get more blades.

Lol that was me. Just took some sweet time to really go through every corner of the game.
