QUOTE(cjtune @ Feb 24 2007, 03:11 PM) Please explain why you think so. Pros will be pros irregardless of their equipment. LCD viewfinders can be more accurate than optical viewfinders in certain circumstances like macro photography where the depth-of-field is so thin and the LCD's digital zoom can aid your focusing. that's the thing, they are NOT pro, but has pro equipment. So STYLE has to be like a pro. LCD will come in handy esp when u need to shoot from difficult angle.

Three major reasons:
1) Optical clarity of LCD screens are not as good as proper viewfinders (you should look through the viewfinder of cameras such as the classic Canon F1 to fully appreciate this. It is absolutely brilliant.) 2) The partially reflective mirrors which allow some light through to fall onto the sensor for 'live preview' would result in available light being split. 3) You save on battery.

I don't know about the Olympus E-330, but I stuck an SLR lens in front of a dumb digicam whose lens I removed. ( Click!) When the image is in focus, the image appears crisply aliased, and seeing that is orgasmic. I wouldn't mind a bigger prism compartment, if it's just another mirror that gives me a bright Live Mode A while closing off the viewfinder. The Live Mode A sensor is the same 7 megapixel one used in their consumer digicams. I wouldn't mind a slide-in manual focus screen (since Olympus has been manual focus for the longest time.)
