Hi guys,
I am using the D'Campus Digi package for Uni Students.
The edge max usage for one month is RM 30.
The speed here in UTM is very stable.
Never got disconnected since started using the line since last month.
The speeds here are fine.
Can reach till 30kB/s for downloading and around 7kB/s for uploading.
Sometimes its slow in the night.
Maybe because other uni students are using it too.

lately i found the APN diginet is getting slow & slower at night time, but the APN digiwap easily hit up 16KB/s (test by www.texan.net/speed.htm)
update...using APN digiwap gateway to PC failed to access internet  laugh.gif using windows dial-up network, easily hit up 180kbps  rclxms.gif

it did reduce the ping ms by digiwap thumbup.gif
will do the speed test again at night time to check out any different using dial-up
p/s: all the while im using SE phone's USB Internet which pre-configured manually, its plug and connected internet feature by SE.

wow, that quite good ping time.
I just tried to see the speed on (www.texan.net/speed.htm) the speed I got was 20 KB/s using diginet.
Maybe here in the UTM the line is quite good.
I most of the time get full bar signal in my room =)

Currently here at UTM, Skudai and Johor Bahru area, Digi having network problem on calls and sms.
But luckily and very interestingly can still online...
Digi is currently upgrading their high speed network.
I think later on we can expect better EDGE speed and reliability.

Currently, the DIGI data service is down.
Got technical difficulties.
Should be alright in 4 hours time.

@iRonTech
Please don't give up on DIGI. Have faith.
DIGI is the best!
May the yellow force be with you!

In penang for wireless, only digi edge is reliable. No other options, Siawcom3G is a LOL. What is keeping digi so long in introducing 3G ha? Feng shui date ka or......
*
DIGI is surely properly planning and testing out the network before rolling it out.
I prefer to wait awhile to have a great 3G network than having an reliable network.

Hi guys, i need help. I'm subscribing digi unlimited data plan. I want to add another supplementary data plan, cost rm33 per month, for my dad to use actually. Question, can he use the data-only sim inside his nokia 2630 or e65, and use it as a modem to connect his laptop to the internet. Advises will be greatly appreciated.
*
Yes, it will work. Remember that you have to set up the setting for diginet (gprs/edge).

get a modem
It is much more easier and less problem will arise!
The modem can take many hours of usage without heating up too much

I noe my question are sounds stupid... im sorry for that sad.gif
If i got an Edge phone with activated GPRS, meaning i can surf with EDGE speed?
and may i know wat is the diffrent between GPRS and CSD?>
THANKS IN MILLION!
*
It's ok. We are here to learn and share! =)
Yup, you can surf EDGE speeds provided that you can get an EDGE signal. (for nokia phones, should be a E near the signal bar)
I think CSD (Circuit Switched Data) is the basic/original form of transfering data on the phone. Like transferring voice data.

GSM data transmission has advanced since the introduction of CSD:

* High-Speed Circuit-Switched Data (HSCSD) is a system based on CSD but designed to provide higher data rates by means of more efficient channel coding and/or multiple (up to 4) time slots.
* General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) provides more efficient packet-based data transmission directly from the mobile phone at speeds similar to HSCSD.
* Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) (E-GPRS) and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) provide improved radio interfaces with higher data rates, while still being backward compatible with the GSM core network.

true, digi is not good for bit torrent.
How about using rapidshare? Much better speeds.

Here is a website to help you out.

Just get the unlimited usage plan like the digi broadband and use it.
Then no need to worry so much about the rates.
I am using D campus and it only RM 30 per month to suft the internet!
