Folks:
I am very very new on the edge..... and need some answer b4 i subscribe:

Is the connection speed different with different hand phone model? For example, nokia 9300 communicator (EGPRS class 10, can send/receive faxes (236.8 kbit/s) ) vs nokia 9500 communicator ( 177 kbps EDGE ). Since both phone was equipped with different speed, then I thought the speed must be different. Am I right? If I am right, then which Edge phone in the market have the highest speed? (prefer to be price below 1k)

Big big thanks in advance for advice me on this..... smile.gif

EDGE is the only way to get you online [at least at higher speeds] where streamyx, 3g are not available at your area X_X...you dont want to use 56k to online do you dry.gif?

So, 3G definately higher speed compares to Edge. But, 3G not available in many places..... just wondering..... do 3G able to convert to GPRS when it is not available in certain places like what Edge did?

Folks:
No offence... but, I was wondering hmm.gif why u guys stick with edge when maxis / celcom 3G is already available at the moment? I was an Edge user previously... but the slow speed was killing me yawn.gif yawn.gif . so, I shifted to celcom 3G recently. So, just wondering, how is Digi's edge going to survive in long term? the only thing good about digi is their customer service. But, I guess the end product is much more important, right? blush.gif

I heard using hp as modem might damage the hp coz u need to constantly charge it while surfing etc.
Not too sure lah. I sometimes need to stop and restart my hp when it got hotter.

Plan to buy the datacard but the price is still quite expensive. Maybe wait til it down to RM300 or less.

he, he, isn't that the best excuse to change hp then? rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif so, make it hot while shopping around for next phone thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
anyway, just for info, my last phone (nokia) last more than a year even though i am a heavy user (almost online with edge for at least 12 hours per day). (sometimes using cable, sometimes using bluetooth- so, I guess phone nowadays are good enough rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif )
