Hi sifus, I'm looking for a car for my sales job and prefer more safety, fuel saving, and reliability. My budget allows me for Honda City 1.5L S or VIOS 1.5J (AT).

So far from what I research, seems VIOS have more safety like vehicle stability control and fuel saving on par with City with CVT.

I'm not expert in this so would like to ask, what do you think?

I don't want to begin a new thread and attract unwanted trolls, so I'd just like to ask directly to owners instead.

Yesterday, I tested both the Vios (GX) and City (V).
Currently, I'm using my parents MyVi and I'm planning to upgrade to either City (S) or Vios (J)

The MyVi is honestly just fine, FC is very good (average 6 l/100km from my Fuelly), service is very cheap and it's very reliable.

The drawback is the poor driving posture (arms hurt), safety (no VSC and shitty handling - evasive manouveres not ricer) and it's not mine (parents car is getting old, I should really return this back to them. They don't mind, but I do)

Anyway, what's the key difference between Vios (J) and City (S). So far I'm leaning towards the City for the following reasons;
i) FC seems good, roughly like the MyVi
ii) Quieter than the Vios - Vios engine very noisy under hard acceleration
iii) More spacious than Vios
iv) Cheaper than Vios
v) Maintainence seems reasonable - slightly more expensive from the MyVi
vi) Has buttons on steering as standard
vii) Stock HU looks better to me
viii) Foldable rear seats - Vios don't have right?

Am I missing something with the Vios?
Why are people still buying them?
Is the Vios more reliable?
Or is the built quality better?
How about rattling, is it bad?
What is the most obvious advantage that the Vios has over the City?
Any of you regretting getting this City?

Let the ECU understand your driving habit for the 1000km after 1k service at Honda, your FC will improve over the time, but that also depend on your foot too.

Nowadays I can only manage to hit 500-600km in between due to change of performance tyres and naughty right leg (keep revving )
You can install Ultra Racing Safety Bar Stage 1 (Front Strut Bar + Rear Anti-Roll Bar) is enough. I won't sacrifice comfort and being too stiff for your car. You can drive up to 180kph on stock no problem

Anyone added a transparent piece of plastic to cover their headlamp? To slow down the headlamp from turning yellow & scratches? Is it necessary?

When I went for my 1st 1k KM service, the service advisor promoted me this "Auto D lock" product. It is a mechanism that allows the door to be locked when gear is in D and unlocked when the gear is in P. Anyone bought it? Is it really necessary and useful? I mean we can lock the door once we get into the car right? Any added value of that product?

Strut bar and anti roll bar .

Seems not much difference only a slight difference when taking out of highway or entering highway.

So any other safety things recommended ?

Question, I initially requested to install modulo kits to my honda city (v specs) 2017 but my SA told me noneed to go for the original kit as the one sold in panel is 100% the same...ori cost RM2900, panel cost RM2000.

Is this true? Anyone encounter this? If really 100% the same, i rather go for panel.
