How about after the housemanship?
I heard that they're no longer employing foreign doctors right?

Same applies to Australia?

Thanks

as of now UK allows a foreigner to get the HO years doen, after which they wont allow you to enter post graduate. I think if you're desperate, go marry a local and inherit a UK citizenship just for the sake of getting post grad : )

i have not heard of Australia turning away foreign graduates.

not exactly inherit. totally wrong word used in this circumstances. but you know if you do get married to a citizen of another country, automatic citizenship is given to you. so yeah , by hook or by crook you still get to post grad in uk.

and you think there isn't any in malaysia?

malaysia is not as bad as this. That is literally killing any person that isn't white.

They will never be able to tell worker or student apart. so yeah its tough i know, and its not gonna get any better.

haha, all the best!! hope nothing bad befalls you!

its quite bad the situation, even if not exaggerated, i mean come on killing is a way different level from just bullying and whacking.

If I'm really good? You mean after i become a doctor and good performance  + good recommendations + good resume?

yeah. from what i've heard the imu local trend was to finish 5 years here, study like mad for your uslme papers and get accepted in the states to do your resident training followed by your specialization over there. its tough work, cause uslme ain't easy and its tough competition, apparently the best specialization areas are usually reserved for the local crew, but no one can discriminate talent and skill. all the best. you're planning on joining imu in 2010?

Singapore according to them they wont take imu students in. they gave a talk over at imu last year. they only want those whom have twinned off overseas.

australia there is an exam, alot of doctors from india take it. forgot the name though.

my bad its supposed to be USMLE united states medical licensing exam

and you'll come to know more bout usmle cause its an exam needed by students whom further their education to thomas jefferson uni in the states.

oh nice to meet you. my batch will be orientating your batch, but i'm not very involved in all the orientation nonsense. i think its boring.

anyhow, 5 years is a long time alot of post grad options will change. you're from a-levels? how were your results.

ooh..hello senior. hahaha. Are you going to do PMS or local then?

Yeap. A-levels. I got straight 4A's. So u mean it's almost impossible for me to do my post-grad in other countries without going through certain exams which prove my qualification?

i'm in pms though. congrats i take it you did cambridge board cause the london board results is only coming out later next week!!

well hope your stay in imu is a good one. and will see you next next monday. we have exam later that friday. but knowing how enthusiastic my batch is about orientation they'll have a good time orientating you people in.

yheap. you need an external exam some how. i suggest you apply for some scholarships, or nus or something like that if you're not interested in working in malaysia. cause only a handful of students make it from seremban to america. its not easy, and of course after studying for 5 years, you'd wanna come out and work but instead you're studying just to pass another set of exams again just to work overseas.

dont know if monash malaysia allows you to work in aust. haven't read bout that lately.
