i'm a 11years old pc user, and i desperately wanna switch to apple... i'm quite aware of everything about apple... everything! : )

i'm planning to buy a macbook, probably white color 2.0 C2D... leopard would released anytime soon, and i'm not rushing, so i will wait for a macbook with preloaded new os 10.5.

i've read a lot of reviews and articles, and always been aware of apple defective issues these few months... i'm quite worry about the case of white macbook, does it still hving the discoloration issues? those annoying and unerasable yellow/brown stains...

and, about the charging of the macbook battery, will it switch to the direct AC after the battery is full? like the feature in all Asus laptop...

magsafe is really safe? anyone here happened to have the magsafe melted issues?
screen flicker issues?

white macbook owner, please answer my question. appreciated! wink.gif

My Macbook is ~2 months old with no stains. You can get palmrests to avoid the staining issue.

Yes, the magsafe will switch to AC once the battery is full. It won't recharge until the battery goes below 95% to avoid problems with the battery. No melted cables either.

Oh, beware of the Macbook sharp edges!

There was some staining issues when the Macbook 1st came out. But apparently for current models, the issue has been fixed.

Anybody care to clarify on this?

i'm not sure if its just me or anything, probably i'll write an email to whine to apple about my unpleasant experience with my first macbook,

i mean, i love everything i had from it, but i had no idea why the first 4 day of using, after i sent to warranty, until now, past 2 week, no news yet, even i celebrated my cny without it *sigh*, which at first i thought there's a crack inside the isight but later they found out another problem which had to send my mb for a permanent repair, and its still not back yet...

well, just whining...but seriously, i'm really unhappy biggrin.gif
really.

bout the bat , ya it uses AC all the way till it's fully charged.

n bout the melting part ....so far i still haven read anything bout the melting .

just get 1 my friend when Leopard is out . You won regret it. wink.gif

The following is the article i read before, they seem to be solved the problem... hopefully, it is true... i know out there have several palmrest protector product... it somehow "degrade' the look of the macbook... haha... im quite interested with the speck hard case though... http://www.speckproducts.com

This makes you wonder if the plastic composites vary from location to location. Last year, many owners (including yours truly) discovered that their beautiful new white MacBook's would quickly develop stubborn and permanent stains. Apple initially ignored the problem, but after coverage of the issue gained momentum, they began to replace the stained cases with a new plastic composite that was more resilient and stain free.

and, bout the melting issues, i read a news, probably is a good news, apple has just released an enhanced magsafe adapter... here is the proof...

btw, the IR port in Macbook allow data transfer?... for example, handphone to macbook?... or, it just for the front row remote control?

The IR is purely for front row remote. Use bluetooth if you have it for your mobile to Mac transfers.

Oh, if you have one of the fully supported devices on the iSync devices list, make sure someone shows you how to sync your phone with iCal, Address Book etc. It's very cool.
