Any recommendation?

1. Preferred brand: Any, as long as worth the value of money.
2. Budget: 4k
3. Usage: engineering drawing(need better grapchi card), Work, Dota
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 or 15
5. Reliable and has good battery life
6. something not too heavy, as will travel around with this.

Thanks!!!

Done some research found that for this price, lenovo Y700 is in the ranged(but a bit heavy), just want to see if there is any other better options before go for this.

Any similar-valued notebook to Xiaomi's Mi Notebook Air 13.3'?
I can get it for ~RM3k post-conversion.

Need something:
- Portable (thin and <1.3kg)
- Good screen (IPS)
- Decent performance + battery life

QUOTE(cocobunana @ Jan 17 2017, 11:35 PM)
hello laptop sifu, I would like to ask some questions regarding the dell new inspiron 15" gaming laptop,

1) Between the 7th gen i5 and i7 processor, will they affect both the graphic card(1050/1050ti)(bottleneck?) and gaming performance(fps, etc.)? If so, is it significant?

2) For both desktop and laptop, If I were to play current gen games somewhere at mid to high settings, will 8gb of ram be enough or is 16gb the current standard? (Since battlefield 1 multiplayer can take up to 8gb ram, along with some windows 10 stuff running at the background) Also, since the 1050ti comes with 4gb of vram, hence 8gb of ram would be sufficient?

3) Since the website claims that consumer can upgrade the ram, and I assume that that will cost an additional RM800 (correct me if I'm wrong), will it be more worth it to go for the 5k option than the 4k + 800 option?

4) Overall, bang per buck wise, would you recommend people to go for the the new 1050 option than the previous 960m option?
*
at certain games, the i5 processor will facing bottleneck if pairing with gtx 1060 , for gtx 1050 ti, uncertainly, seem its relatively new, need more review biggrin.gif

Hi, i have owned a Lenovo Y410P before this but recently the connecting part between the screen and keyboard broken. This seems to be a very common problem for these series of laptop. Achilles Heel?? However, it seems that Lenovo recent series design has counter this problem. Is it true?

1. Preferred brand : Brands with good customer service
2. Budget : Below RM3K
3. Usage : Aspen, Autocad, Matlab software, normal documenting(Microsoft Office), light gaming, playing music
4. Screen Size : 14' or 15' with lighter weight is preferred.
p/s: Would like to avoid laptop model with brittle connecting part as of Lenovo 410P.

Thnx for the answer.

between:

1) Alienware 13 r3
2) Illegear z5

which 1 is better in term of temp, quality, after sale services and which more long lasting??? because i prefer more portable and hv TB3 port laptop, good thing is AW13 hv TB3, but i hate AW13 r3's glossy screen because its really hard to use outside (silau), if take z5, need sacrifice the TB3.
*
Glossy screen ?? you mean the OLED display ? hmm.gif

but in malaysia,at the moment , Dell malaysia only offer 13.3 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare 300-nits Display

Thx bro, I've been looking at the Inspiron 7567. Also really appreciate your suggestion for the MSI GP62MVR, it's lightweight and specs are good for the price. Will look around further but those 2 laptops I will keep in mind.
Maybe there will be some better selection once the other CES 2017 laptops get on the market.

Meanwhile any suggestions for the best places to purchase laptops at a good price? I know of Techhypermart but not sure if Lazada or Shoppu is good.
