looking to buy light laptop below 3k with 8th gen intel

i quite like the acer swift 3 but the one with mx150 is expensive....

Around 2.1 is okay, what I mean by light is lighter than the Dell 7567 which im familiar with

What I really think is important is IPS>Intel 8th Generation>MX150 or better :3

hello guys, looking for a new laptop during this (hopefully) full of deals holiday season.

1. Preferred brand : no preference, i have used Dell and Asus before so i prefer those, but totally open to new ones if they represent better value.

2. Budget : RM2500 - around RM3000

3. Usage : daily usage (surfing, word processing, light photoshop), gaming (no hardcore, just occasional CS:GO, FIFA, Rocket League. i dont need to run on max specs, the low specs is OK. i just want it to be able to run smoothly without over heating)

4. Screen Size : 15.6" preferred, dont want too big if possible.

i googled a few laptops after i posted in this thread, saw lenovo y520. should i go for this instead or would asus s/a 510 be good enough, as i'm seeing the price isnt very different on lazada? or is it better to go for asus s510 with high specs than a y520 with low spec?

Currently found 3 potential buy
1. Asus Vivobook S S510U 15.6"
Probably best fit my preference, only 4gb ram, gt940mx instead, heaviest of the 3 [edit* can't find i5 variant with ssd]
2. Lenovo Ideapad 320s 13.3"
Also fit my preference but ports are too limited, only 4gb ram, may need to pair with external hdd [edit* no stock]
3. HP ENVY 13 13.3"
Nice design but only integrated graphics, most expensive [edit* crossed out, over budget]

Looks like i'm left with the asus vivobook, does anyone know what the difference of a510u and s510u model?
Is it possible/easy to add ram and ssd by myself for the i5 model?
Any suggestions or other models that are within compromise?

Acer vx15 is better than the Lenovo y520

The reason is Acer use a more contrast-ty IPS screen than Lenovo. Lenovo possibly using a 6-bit color rate panel.

In short, the Acer have an even brighter display than Lenovo which is quite important for a laptop. I would prefer, personally, to use that than a dim screen.

Lenovo isn't too dim though, but you do see it's difference side to side
