haha so ur meaning is get the i7-6700 with gtx 1070 (without gsync) instead of i7-7700 with gtx 1060 (with gsync)?
*
G-Sync monitors are very EXPENSIVE.. G-Sync isn't really worth it.. since 1070 already strong enuf...

G-Sync is a proprietary format that can only be used with Nvidia cards. Free-Sync on the other hand is a Display Port standard and can be implemented by anyone. The problem is, Nvidia doesn't want to use Free-Sync as that would mean them losing the money they are making from G-Sync. As of right now, Nvidia will not let you use Free-Sync on their video cards... i think no external monitor.... if u wanna use 1.. then get gsync type..

Coz other than gaming I will also use it to make videos and for presentations..meaning I might plug in to different external source..gsync won't effect it right?
*
lets say u take new kaby lake with 1060 gsync... plug in external source, no gsync support. you cant get any display as i believe...

From my understanding, all GTX-10xx series are G-Sync enabled GPU. Is the G-Sync feature limited by the panel technologies VA/TN/IPS and refresh rate? Would you mind to explain more? Sorry for my weak knowledge...
*
kinda confusing tho.. if all gtx10xx series are g-sync enable gpu, i wonder why they say 1060 with gsync and 1070 only (not with gsync) hmm.gif is it due marketing strategy? im not really sure.. yes.. its refresh rate.. well, above is just my opinion.. rclxub.gif

i think i need summon legendary sifu goldfries. Please enlighten us if u dont mind smile.gif your great knowledge sharing will give us benefits... thanks

You mean if the external source is not G-Sync monitor, then can't get any display? Cannot "OFF" this G-Sync feature to connect the laptop with non-G-Sync monitor?
*
i think it should able to works since its only refresh rate prob not 144.. sometimes, i read some rumous (from other q&a saying).. unable get display from unsupported gsync monitor

Any recommendation?

1. Preferred brand: Any, as long as worth the value of money.
2. Budget: 4k
3. Usage: engineering drawing(need better grapchi card), Work, Dota
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14 or 15
5. Reliable and has good battery life
6. something not too heavy, as will travel around with this.

Thanks!!!

Done some research found that for this price, lenovo Y700 is in the ranged(but a bit heavy), just want to see if there is any other better options before go for this.

well, dual channel definitely better.
so is it dual channel setup?
*
actually.. dual channel and single channel for gaming.. do not give different.. even though it increase bandwidth of the computer performance as the process runs simultaneously.. but for gaming.. it does not make any different..

unless for OC... well.. dats make the different..

*edit... some games not rely only on gpu... but cpu as well... here then, the dual channel will giving advantage... not slightly, but a lot in terms of fps on screen resolution, FHD, qhd, 4k.. like dat.. well, dats what i found...

if it was a dual channel, it will be another plus point.
but i will not use the laptop for gaming since i have a gaming desktop, maybe dual or single channel has no meaning for me.
it will be good if dual channel, anyway already placed order for 310-14IKB for rm1699 at lazada, quite a good deal. biggrin.gif
*
below 2k... with dual channel? hmm.gif erm... im quite unsure.. not really know if there dual channel or not unless check... nod.gif
