QUOTE(hye @ Dec 30 2016, 09:49 AM) If you are looking for a card that gives you 5% cash back for Petrol and Groceries PLUS FREE 5X entries to Plaza Premium Lounges nationwide without any conditions, click here to read my review of the Maybank Visa Signature. Maybank VS does not allow PPL access anymore, correct? This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 2 2017, 07:37 PM

QUOTE(fly126 @ Jan 16 2017, 11:52 AM) HLB Essential, Alliance You:nique, SCB Cash Back Gold. So among these 3, if there is a monthly expenditure of , let's say, RM 2000 which isn't inclusive of petrol, groceries, or insurance payments , SCB cash back would be the best among these 3?

QUOTE(fly126 @ Jan 16 2017, 11:45 PM) i) SCB Cash Back Gold - The way to maximize the Cash-back % is by spending exactly (RM) 500, 833 or 1500 (Not Petrol & Insurance) & You will get either 2%, 3% or 3.33% effective cash back. https://www.sc.com/my/assets/pws/pdf/CashBa...Product-TnC.pdf ii) Alliance You:nique - RM3000 (Spend) = RM (1000 x 0.5%) + (1000 x 1.5%) + (1000 x 3%) = 5 + 15 + 30 = Max. RM50 CB, & after RM3k it's Only 0.3% (No Cap). | Monthly Spend (RM) | Rebate (%) | | 0 - 1,000 | 0.50 | | 1,001 - 2,000 | 1.50 | | 2,001 - 3,000 | 3.00 | | > 3,000 | 0.30 |
iii) HLB Essential • 0.6% Unlimited cash back on insurance transactions Or Other retail transactions, NO CB on Petrol transaction • 0.6% cash back on RM5,000 spend (tier 1) • 1% Unlimited cash back on subsequent spend (tier 2)https://www.hlb.com.my/main/assets/files/ne...and-updates.pdfCourtesy of donhue, BeastXThanks for the informative summary.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Aug 29 2017, 07:46 PM) So this maybank card is probably better than HLB essential, correct? Since HLB essential warrants above RM 5K to be eligible for the 1% cash rebate. Also, the downside of this maybank card is that it's AMEX and not all merchants accept this card.

Can't seem to find anywhere whether there is no CB for government transactions for SCB cashback gold MasterCard. I did see the clause for JustOne Platinum card.

QUOTE(SzeMeng76 @ Sep 5 2017, 09:21 AM) Yes. Government transaction entitle cash back for SCB cash back gold. I tried. For that card, only petrol and insurance transaction excluded. Great, thanks for that info.

Need to pay RM 6500 for repairs for my wife's car this week. The workshop accepts AMEX however they will charge 2.5% extra. So am gonna use AMEX 2 cards to max out the cashback (RM1000) there, then will use SCB gold cashback to pay RM 1500 to max out the RM 5 CB too , and the remainder might use HLB essential card. Sadly, will only have to get 0.6% CB from that card. If only I had the new MBB FC Barca card, then I will be able to enjoy 2% CB.

Which credit card can be used currently to maximise the online cashback to enjoy full online benefit to pay for TNB bill? I used to use shopee but now they do not have TNB payment option anymore.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Feb 19 2018, 04:09 PM) there are sellers in shopee doing tnb payment, just NOT publicized as TNB Okay thanks for that. Looks like need to look for options that state pay bills with discount.
