QUOTE(tkwmm @ Jan 11 2023, 02:44 PM) Hello, I am planning to get my 2nd Credit Card, 1st Credit card was 4 year ago with Aeon Credit with negative experiences, as they doesn't want to waive off the annual fees I suggest combo two cards:1. Annual Income: RM36K - RM40K 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must / Waivable 3. Card required for: Petrol, Transport (Grab, Bus Ticket, Train Ticket), Utilities (Time Fibre, TNB), Online digital product (Steam, Epic Store), Online shopping (Shopee, Lazada), Offline Shopping (groceries, Aeon, Tesco, electronic device etc), F&B (Mamak, Foodpanda, Airasia), Car Loan (if possible). Should be spending around RM1000-2000 for all these. 4. Existing credit cards (if any): Nil. 5. Interested in CC from: Citibank Cash Back Card, Standard Charted SIMPLY CASH CREDIT CARD 1. Citibank Cashback Mastercard 2. HLB Wise Visa You should be able to earn up to RM100 cashback with very achievable spending threshold. |

QUOTE(Argiope @ Jan 23 2023, 12:48 PM) 1. Annual Income: RM60K What is cardup? 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Must or able to apply for waiver 3. Card required for: Cashback 4. Existing credit cards (if any): None 5. Interested in CC from: Citi Cashback, UOB One, HLB Wise 6. Others: Located in EM with limited eligible grocery and e-wallet options. Monthly spending is around: petrol 250, dining 250, pharmacy essentials 100, grocery 150, online shopping 200, insurance 1100 (to be channeled through cardup) Thanks. For your use case I suggest go with Citibank Cashback + HLB Wise. If you can hit rm1.5k spend then maybe get a UOB One card as well. Between the three you should be able to easily get rm100 cashback per month based on your category listing. |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 7 2023, 04:04 PM) Citi cashback (non platinum). Use it for your dining (RM10 cashback), groceries (Rm10 cashback) and petrol (RM10 cashback). Even if you don't get grab cashback, that's still RM30 cashback a month (make sure to hit the RM500 minimum spend. Also your sign up bonuses for citi are normally quite attractive. The Citibank "grocery" list doesn't include Speedmart etc. Very restrictive list. I'd rather advice to get the HLB Wise Visa. He should be able to max out the RM60 by planning around the weekend spend.Or since they're getting acquired by UOB you can direct go to UOB One. I would go for Citi first though, eventually UOB will merge the card to UOB One I think. |

QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ Dec 21 2023, 10:34 AM) If you're looking for cashback: Will the non Amex Maybank card be charged with SST?Mobile/internet, petrol - Amex 2 cards gold/plat, pay on weekends for CB, TNG + most autobilling - Affin Duo Visa, put the leftovers in BigPay Both cards can be maxed out at RM1k/month each. Keep the non-Amex Maybank card + the Affin Mastercard in a drawer as both are useless. |

It looks like all cards are getting nerfed.
My go-to was: 1. RHB Shell Visa - RM100 2. HLB Wise - RM55 3. Maybank Ikhwan Amex - RM50 Can easily get RM200 cashback per month. My spending is "real", no e-wallet filler. But I do use Spaylater to maximize cashback for most groceries/dining spend. Spend around RM4k per month across groceries, insurance, condo maintenance, petrol, Shopee/Lazada, dining and misc retail spending. What's the best card to replace the RHB Shell Visa? I've been seriously considering UOB One Platinum, however their groceries cashback is limited to selected merchants that I do not shop at. Also I don't use Grab/Grabpay at the moment. |
