1. Annual Income: Gross 100k
2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A must, or can be waived after XXX spending

3. Card required for: I only care about Reward Points! the lowest needed per redemption the better. If possible reward points that never expire.

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
Ordinary CIMB platinum & Enrich card (which was given free, 2x free pass to golden lounge yearly)

5. Interested in CC from: I believe none in Malaysia that can satisfy my needs where points can be transferred to hotels & various airlines.

6. Others:
I am loyal to CIMB because i use their rewards points to discount electrical goods purchased at SenQ. 250 points for RM1 can save me hundreds every year! But soon they will update the redemption up to 400 points = RM1 which is a huge devaluation!  sad.gif I dont think spending RM1 = 2 bonus points works anymore.
Kindly provide me with the best card you think.
Cashbacks, discounts, access to lounge are nice perks but not necessary.
Thank you  smile.gif

MBB 2 Cards Reserve would probably satisfy all your needs however income requirement is 120k and annual fee only waivable if expenses is 80k per annum. And unfortunately 3 yr expiry for points but point accumulation is the best in Msia when using Amex.
With 100k no harm trying to apply, esp when you haven't add in your bonuses.

Next best would probably be MBB 2 Cards Plat/Gold

Check out Expedia as well. They had better rates plus MBB have 10% promo off Expedia, better than Agoda.
I saved RM600+ with the promo smile.gif

Very helpful info, been eyeing on those cards as well especially the cimb cash rebate. Thanks alot guys, glad i found this golden thread  thumbup.gif

You can also consider Maybank2C. Especially if most of your online transactions are overseas merchants, they accept Amex which gives you 5% CB on weekends (capped at RM50) and also 5x points everyday.
Compared to CIMB and PBB Quantum, online transactions are capped at RM30 though on plus side- it's available everyday and MasterCard is more accepted everywhere.

for 1-off large amount swipe (5-digit), which card has the highest return (in all form, either cash back, points, miles, vouchers etc)??

on top of my mind, there are few good options:

1. MBB Amex (if merchant accepts + weekend) - 1.25% TP + RM50

2. HLB Essential - RM 30 (first RM 5000 spent) + 1% subsequent spend

3. HSBC Amanah MPower - RM 500 Lazada Code + 0.2%

Appreciate if you could share any other good cards for my reference  notworthy.gif

At RM10,000

HLB : RM80 CB
MBB Amex: RM50 CB + RM100 Cash Voucher

At RM20,000

HLB : RM180 CB
MBB Amex: RM50 CB + RM250 Cash Voucher

At RM50,000

HLB: RM480 CB
MBB Amex: RM50 CB + RM600 Cash Voucher

The card with an even higher returns would me MBB 2 Premier Amex, but the higher returns only applies to Airmiles. RM1000 = 1,048 miles compared to MBB Amex RM1000 = 590 miles

Can you elaborate more on this? At first i see the card gives 1% cashback for oversea transaction unlimited cap, no annual fee. (which quite ok for my business trip spending around rm10k) Now may reconsider again.
Cashback returned?  Last time i have this, but cancelled due to no cashback and alot merchant in my area doesnt accept amex.
*
5% cash back on weekends for everything. Yep quite a number do not accept, but I had no problem maxing RM50 cash back almost every month though. You can use for petrol stations, utilities (e.g. maxis), a number of online shopping, a number of shopping malls, etc.
And since you'll be using it overseas, Amex more widely accepted than Msia (depending on where you are)

Hi, any recommendation for the best cash back credit card for online insurance payment?
Around RM1k per month just for Insurance alone, is there any 5% CB which gives at least RM50 CB cap?

Affin Duo Visa - 3% on online / direct debit, but you are required to keep Duo Mastercard as well.

Thanks, is there any other card with higher CB rate? Don't mind lower cap since i won't even hit the 1.5k mark per month..

Thanks for the key highlights on both UOB and MBB cards. Judging by my spending habit, am leaning towards the UOB path, provided their air miles conversion don't get further nerfed down the road.. :/
*
UOB World card has a severe capping limit for all the 12x or 5x points category that makes it not worth the difference for local spending. The only worth while UOB cards combination is Prvi Miles Elite (ONLY for overseas/online spending in foreign currency) & Zenith (useless card to be kept in drawer, only used for the lower points conversion with Prvi Miles Elite.

For local spending as someone previously mentioned there is no clear winner now after MBB devaluation. Alliance Bank VI is still a bit ahead even after their recent devaluation to 15k points = 1k Enrich miles, making it just below RM2 = 1 mile (only for online retail).
Other local spending ranges from RM3 = 1 mile up to RM15 = 1 mile
You are also limited to Enrich and their partnering airlines. But best part is their evergreen points. Sadly UOB did not continue Citi's evergreen route sad.gif

MBB VI is RM3.50 = 1 mile for all local spending makes it more versatile IMO.

Currently what I have and I think is the ideal combination:
Local spending - MBB VI
Overseas/FX spending - UOB Prvi Miles Elite (unfortunately I do not have the Zenith card)

Conclusion:

UOB isn't the greatest card, you need a few cards that match your spending habits in order to achieve the highest point collection. Thereafter, you need to use premium cards to redeem those points (example Metal or Zenith), which have lower point requirements- i.e. 4.5K points to 1K enrich or 6.4K points to 1k enrich.

MBB VI has best PPL lounge access but the ability to collect point is sluggish and the annual fee can't be waived. Also, about the limit caps, it kind of difficult to bust the RM 3K cap a month, unless the person is big eater or have a big family. For me, I have a lot of big ticket items that I need to pay via FPX, which I dont get any points.

Also, if you split too many cards to collect points for Enrich, will you be effective in collecting points?
*
Oh UOB definitely isn't the greatest card, however the Prvi Miles Elite is currently the greatest for overseas/foreign currency usage spending usage.
For local spending there is no greatest, UOB definitely isn't anywhere near the top for local spending. I'd rate MBB MUVI and Alliance VI higher based on general consumers usage.
MBB VI gives a more consistent and versatile point collection of RM3.50 = 1 mile than UOB which in most case is RM4.50 to 1 mile with Zenith. You may have a lot of big ticket items that you pay via FPX, but majority use their credit cards via physical swiping/online purchases through 3rd party credit card payment vendors.

1. Annual Income: Business Card

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes

3. Card required for: Cash back for Local

4. Existing credit cards (if any): N/A

5. Interested in CC from: UOB Business Signature

6. Key monthly spendings:
- Insurance (RM1 mil+)

Anyone knows any other cards with a higher cash back rate? At the moment the UOB Business Signature looks like the highest at 0.75%, however the downside is that it is a charge card.

Key monthly spending - RM1 mil+ for insurance alone? Boi.. your tax planning is second to none.
Oh my bad, it's supposed to be annually Rm1m+ sweat.gif

1) Isn't Affin Duo a personal card? And capped at RM50 monthly?

2) I'd have to give Alliance a pass since I'll have to be their premier wealth customer

3) Is this Titanium Mastercard? I see it at 0.70% cb promo only until 31 Dec 24 which will revert back to 0.55% after.

1) Because the Duo card I see on Affin's site has a cap of RM50
https://www.affinalways.com/en/affin-duo

2) Alliance Visa Signature.

Tier ----- Cash back ----- Range (spend)
1---------0.05% --------- 1-1,000
2---------0.5%-----------1,001-2,000
3---------5.0%----------- 2,0001 -3,000
4---------0.25%---------- More tha 3,000

0.25% cb for above RM3k is too low though

3) Interestingly that card isn't listed in the OCBC credit card site when I was looking for it. Is it still available?
Also where did you read that online transaction means: auto debit, recurring payments, internet, instalment payment plans, mail and telephone orders?
In the description below it is retail spending with that definition.

It depends, some don’t allow so have to cancel. Some banks may retain, some may not. So apply again next time.
*
Is there a period gap needed to reapply again?
For example MBB KF annual fee hits, then you cancel the card. Can you reapply for the card again 1 week after cancellation to still get the 1st year free AF waiver? sweat.gif

6 months but approval is up to their discretion.

One week of course cannot, they will just reinstate the old card and need to pay for AF.

1. Annual Income: RM150k and above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must. Ease of service rax rebate is definitely a plus.

3. Card required for: Lounge access. Mostly local is fine (penang, johor) but overseas lounge is fun. Want a minimum hassle lounge access card for the rare 1 or 2 times i travel for work. I am ok to apply 1 card and cancel 1 year later also.

4. Existing credit cards (if any): UOB ONE, mbb 2 amex

5. Interested in CC from: HLB VI, MBB WME. Ambank card?

6. Others: why MBB MWE just for some MWE perks. Recently cancelled hsbc vs.
*
Alliance Bank VI has one of the most extensive PPL lounge access overseas.
There is AF now, but from what I heard is easily waivable by calling CS and performing few transactions.
