Then it look like the only way is to get taxi from roadside when travelling in China.
Ahh.. sound difficult.

So usually how you guys settle the transport when travelling in China? Mind to share?

When i went to beijing previously, i just use their subway. cheap and efficient enough.

But TBH since i can't speak mandarin and their english literacy is really low, better get guide la. Else, u just visit here & there, but don't know the story behind it.

That's in April. In August, Uber sold their China operations to Didi. It was in the news.

With the Uber account set up in Malaysia but local sim. I always get a local sim the moment I arrive at any airport.

Used a Uber in China (now supposedly illegal), Rome, Lisbon, Porto, Paris, London, with no issue at all. Our Uber partner in Shanghai and Lisbon were so good that we made private arrangement with them for specially tailored trips.

In oct 2016, i tried to test uber apps in china with my account and app which setup in malaysia. When i open the apps, it prompt me to login and the apps interface changed to chinese. Is this normal? I remember that time i already login in malaysia before i go china and i am using the wifi in the hotel.

After see this strange things.. then i give up trying further. Haha.

haha.. made Uber illegal and then make Didi Dache legal.
Both app basically offer the same things. biggrin.gif

I guess Didi Dache is very not foreigner-friendly. Not sure we can use there or not.
If Uber sure no problem.

Anyone have experience using Didi Dache in China?

Uber ceased operation on early December and become uber didi something like that

Program only in Chinese coz only new takeover

U can take their taxi, their taxi strictly uses meter
Don't take taxi without driver info display on dashboard, those are cari makan

If u are in tourist area, those cari makan will be infested there, just walk abit further to get others taxi

Don't ask how much, then they will give u a price instead off using meter knowing you are not local
