Hmm I disagree.. the sports price is jack up due to sport exclusive broadcast right is very very expensive now. example champions league right is 1.2bn UK pound and and to be fair asstro have to pay in pound or usd for the right.

I saw price in singtel mio tv and starhub sports also very expensive. good thing am not sports fan and can live with star pack at rm104.. although really2 considering to downgrade something below 100 hmm.gif  hmm.gif

For those who familiar with Thai pay-satellite TV, in general term DTH, I am sure you've heard company named CTH (previously they used transponders via Vinasat 132'E). They aimed for exclusive live sport such as football match livecast but ended with bankruptcy and led to lelong all their broadcasting eqipment

The company still can survive one because some in-house channels have been sold to other country.

Somemore Transvision also use Measat system in order to watch channels.

It's more easily gain profit corporate with others satellite tv provider rathet than gain profit to end consumer (subscriber).

By the way, what is differences between cable TV vs PayTV vs SatelliteTV?
Does cable TV and satellite TV are the same?

Just different medium / platform to deliver tv programme to viewer, either by unencrypted (FTA / FTV) or encrypted (pay), most common in use DVB-S2 (satellite), DVB-C (cable), DVB-T2 (terrestrial)
