Thanks for your update.

Don't understand why banks still insist OTC which will incur them resources at physical bank (human, time, rental and etc) and also wasting time for customers. With everyone jumping into digitalisation, this old school OTC practices, will really drive customers/businesses away dry.gif

Time = money, digitalisation improve efficiency and productivity....don't understand why they don't get it.

4.5% is eFD. However 4.4% is over the counter. For eFD pls refer to the previous posts.

Hi, if say totally not cimb customer, what are the steps needed to get onto the cimb eFD. I have been using Maybank and HLB only for the past few years.

Seems, that CIMB and BR are now offering better eFD.

So for the CIMB steps:
a. go to branch and open saving acc first? What are documents require, just IC will do? Any minimum saving, and any recurring fees like debit card?
b. apply internet banking (how long to process before getting the id/pass)
c. get online and create the eFD over the link posted in this forum?

** Interested in any good offer in eFD only, because not convenience to visit any banks branches. Will make one time effort to go to one of the cimb branch to get the above done.

Thanks for advise guys.

a) open BSA Account 1 (without Annual Fee) >> info https://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...gs-account.html . min RM20 holding balance
b) CIMBclicks, you can create immediately at the branch after BSA application done. they'll guide you to create it.
c) transfer money from maybank/hlb -> cimb bsa. use Instant Transfer, but mbb has daily limit of rm30k.

Managed to do so today too. Went and open a basic savings account with no annual fee ( rm20 deposit) and then did a IBFT to the savings account and apply the fixed deposit using the link. Thanks!
I actually did this today.

1) I only needed to produce my IC, they will have a small form with required info to fill up in. There is a  basic account with no annual fees, and only reuquiring rm20 as min deposit ( tell them this). It comes with a debit card ( I dont think banks offer atm only card nowadays). Do note that there are charges to transactions, with this kind of account ( though they do provide some free numbers of initial transactions per years, you'll need to look it up).

2) Did it in the branch itself. The officer will tell you to go to the atm, to deposit the min amount, do so, and also register your mobile phone number for TAC at the atm machine. Register at cimb clicks using your debit card number, and with the tac code sent to your registered mobile phone ( do so at the provided terminal, or more securely, through your own personal phone or computer)

3) Login using the cimb link posted in the forum, and after login, you'll be redirected to placing EFD.

Thank you 000022, appreciate the first hand feedback, this is really helpful.

Also thank you the rest of the bros who chip in.

Will be going to cimb branch on 20 Nov to create all this. Will ask for saving acc without annual fees hopefully with debit card (without annual fees too).

Just wondering what cimb efd offer will be for next month after this 4.5% expire by end of this month.

With many getting year end bonus and have extra fund coming in Jan, hope they give even better promo.
