this page from UOB Malaysia, he made a call to verify and said ok to proceed. But he could be inexperienced as the following time I placed another FD, I was told some of my personal info were recorded incorrectly.
From what I understand, all banks under 'PIDM protection group' (not sure the correct term - commercial bank?) is obligated to to offer BSA without debit card fee (with limited free transactions before charges) as stated by
BNM. Only Bank Rakyat I see is a little different due to it being a co-op bank.
You should give UOB another try and have the page ready on your phone, not many banks offer monthly interest for FD - which you can then place elsewhere for interest on interest effect.
