Easiest way to solve your problem is to deposit your 500k into MBB and you just fpx from MBB to HLB.

I made total 17 fpx transactions from MBB to HLB in 1 day and that was in Nov last year.
*
1. FPX allows 17 transactions from MBB in a day?

2. even i can make 17 transactions in a day to HLB, but HLB will put all these 17 FPX in 1 FD placement or 17 different placement?

Dump that money into Maybank and do the fpx of multiples of rm30k from Maybank. So far , no issues with multiple fpx transactions of 30 K in a day.
*

Actually Bank Rakyat is not the member of PIDM. Therefore all the deposits of Bank Rakyat are not protected under PIDM. It's protected by Ministry of Finance.

Is the interest paid out monthly or only until maturity?

The highest rate for OCBC until now is 4.38%. Acording to the news, inflation rate is very low and the economy is very bad, it's the right time for Bank Negara to lower down the OPR. Don't know it will affect the FD rate in future?
