i just go to mumualat bank put fd with banker cheque, said come back on thursday collect the cert, rates also calculate start on thursday…
first time use banker cheque can not got the cert on same day…

Same problem I have encountered today at Jaya One. But the Branch Manager did say that he will deliver the cert to me tomorrow. rclxms.gif

Overall and surprisingly, the banking experience was good. No slow-mo or hiccup as they are fully aware of the processes. Better than BR.

PJ branch.

If use personal cheque, bank muamalat will have good reasons to hold effective date

I went to the Jaya One branch on Monday and had to wait till Tuesday to collect the cert!!!

Good that they have changed their SOP.

Hey, anyone here using the RHB Term deposit? Would like to know after i made a placement of 4.15% with CASA balances RM10,000 and above, what will happen during the tenure, if my CASA drop below the 10k?

I know i can call their RHB for more info, but sometimes their own staff are not too sure about these promotions...
*
10k balance only required at the time of FD deposit. You can use the funds once the FD is done.

Also, the 4.15% FD promo extended until end of Dec 2017 according to RHB staff in Mid Valley.

HL 4.2% for 10 months.
T&C: Min 10k balance in CASA and must hold/apply other active products.
Lock in period for CASA min balance is 2 months fr. FD placement date.

wow really surprised...suddenly upped in 1 month!
it seems true,
luckily my Citibank 6month is 4.8%
if not really angry man.

Confirmed latest BI promo rates from today till year end:

6 mths 4.0%
12 mths 4.2%
18 mths 4.4%

For 6 and 12 mths tenure, no need to open account or have existing as interest would be paid at maturity.

For 18 mths, need basic SA for interest payment at 6 mths interval.

Straight FD - no placement ratio or earmark in CASA. Must be fresh fund.

So must do OTC then? I think I have enough bank accounts...sick of it. Good thing also I guess. So means must go to bank on maturity date or I rugi money sitting with them after maturity?
*
Correct. OTC placement and withdrawal on maturity date or else lose interest if late.

for such otc placement when it matures do you need to go otc at ambank branch to withdraw or can be done online?
*
Was informed that OTC placement for uplifting or withdrawal upon maturity must be done in branch.

I can confirm that there's monthly interest for 4.5% 18 mths (below 50 yrs old) OTC placement. I don't have my FD print slip with me to show but I have checked my online account and could see accrued interest since my placement on 12.12. And yes, I am a Priority Customer.

The branch that you visited is good. Nu Sentral branch right?

Yes, Nu Sentral. You can look for Shuba, Branch Manager or Nurul, Customer Service. They should be able to help.

I think you should insist them to honour the rate of 4.2%
*
If you have a valid certificate, they must honour as it's signed by 2 bank authorised signatory, unless you are relying on the previous matured certificate.

My 18 months matured today and while in the App is shown as 4.65% for 18 months auto renewed, I went the bank to get an updated certificate and the rate on the new certificate was 2.85% and not as shown in the App. So I withdrew out.

yes this BR promotion RM50k 12month @4.0% is lousy

must  lock RM10k in saving silly,
effective rate less than 3.5%
apa promotion like that?
*
Just checked with the CS, other options available without any RM10K pledge / lock in period:

3.8% for 12 months or
3.7% for 8 months

I did mine at KL Sentral branch. Spoke directly to the Customer Service Officer instead of the Teller. She seemed aware that 4% is not an issue, just need to email and seek approval from HQ.

This 4% you need to ask...

You No ask... The staff won't tell you anything...

This i dislike about BI... Don't promote the FD rates... Like we begging to them...

As for HQ approval.... Is just formalities purposes only... Rarely gets rejected.... They just need to ask & confirm... That's all...
*
Yeap. All the wayang required.

Interestingly, I remember there was this veeeerrrrryyyyy long discussion about 365 or 366 days used for FD interest calculation. My BI FD certs state tenure as 365 days instead of 12 months.

No need anymore. It's an official promotion ranging from 3, 6, 9 and 12 months until 31 Dec 2024. 12 months is 4%. Can't remember the rest. I just came back from the Bank.
