Hi,
Had anyone tried to make the placement for maybank ?
Anyone know if i need to choose "auto renewal" for this ? As i could only get the 3.1%rate, not the promo rate
Tried to go through the t&c and didnt see anything that's wrong

It would be better just put ur fd in affin board rate for 13 months since the board rate for 13 months is already 4.0%. Unless you dont want the hustle.  tongue.gif

Yeah.. i dont want the hustle to switch over to other bank, or have to walk in to the counter.
Thanks for your advise though

In other countries it's known as term deposit even for non Islamic deposits. Also known as CD, and time deposits, etc.

Thanks for the clarification

haiya dont bait this here lah. ... better ask in asnb-related topics instead

each has its own pros and cons. nothing wrong with FD. also nothing wrong with asnb/asx. some ppl got both too.
*
Lol im not baiting. I got both too, but recently shifting some into asnb.
So wanna see what is everyone’s thought

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Apr 12 2024, 11:44 PM)
my guess lah .

1)Many staunched FD kakis dont bother  even lower rates

2)Most have impression ASNB  difficult to  get

3)Many dont have ASNB account, lazy to  go  open or check out

heck even in Fds some just dont bother to move even another FD is giving better rates.
no time, not worth the hassle
they have own reason

Do you have FDs at low rates eg 3% or so?
Do you always go for highest rates and not bothered got PIDM or not?
*
QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 13 2024, 02:40 AM)
1. No confidence with ASNB (No PIDM vs FD)

2. Thinking No units available all time (didn't get latest information)

3. Long relationship with the bank. Sentiment value. Thus stil having FD placement

4. Diversification purposes (FD is safe & guaranteed vs others risky asset class)

5. EPF quota full already (since got only 100k per year). Temporarily park in FD before moving to EPF next year / cycle of 100k
*
QUOTE(cclim2011 @ Apr 13 2024, 07:57 AM)
i think some big points are being missed

1. Fixed rate versus unknown till the very last days (probably covered as point 4 above)

2. Loss of interest during placement / uplifting at disadvantaged dates (can be very significant, can add up to 1x% as 1/12month, or can it be 2/12 as i am not sure about the dividend calculation at withdrawal)

3. eLiquidity. Maximum 1k online withdrawal per day? That's too small.
*
I see, yeah there's some point that's worth to consider there.
Thanks for all the feedback guys
