Affin Invikta FD offer is only OTC.

Yes, you need to drop by Affin Bank to get the rate. Today i just deposit FD @ 6 months at 3.8%

Affin is much better come to FD compared to other. You can deposit the fund in CASA to FD at special rate >3% while other only 2.x% when deposit from own account.

This rate was offered after “negotiations”.

Emmm, each time i asked for better rate the guys seem not interested in any negotiation. Just follow the board rate.

If you place 4.28% for 6 months and 2.20% for the next 6 months the effective rate is 3.24%. It is a one time offer for new Premier customer.
You can make appointment at hsbc website, make sure you arrive on time, if you miss it,  you get a long wait.
But they will likely try to sell you insurance and investment product when you sign up for Premier.

Disclaimer,  I'm not hsbc Premier but it should be pretty much the same as other banks.

What you said is exactly what I’m experiencing, to the point that I don’t even want to speak with the RM anymore. Don’t bother with HSBC FD — it looks attractive at first to get you to place a deposit, but after 6 months they have nothing better to offer. The FD rate just reverts back to the normal bank rate.
