Currently this the best rate for 12m so far 👍🎉

Hopefully got others can give little better like 4.6 or 4.8 💰🤑

You apply RHB Visa Infinte credit card and they can offer Quickcash up to RM30K payable over 12 installments with no interest and no processing fee... biggrin.gif

Rec'd my RM30K and put them in EPF...

Can goes either way. No sure win.

The FD rates have been lagging behind as compared to the OPR hikes. Looks like the bank have liquidity; we see new credit cards offer cash advances at % interest and bank offering personal loan @ 3.38% and even 2.99%....

If indeed bank have liquidity, then the FD rates will stay rather stable i.e. chances of FD rates going higher is rather slim. Hopefully I am wrong... blush.gif

Banks have the liquidity....
Don't really need more deposit especially for FDs....
So why bother giving high promo rates.....

Also last time, already gave out good rate & gotten all the $$$$ required 💪
*
Unfortunately that is probably true.....decided to pay off my housing loan and also put excess funds into EPF instead. No more FD goodies...

thumbsup.gif  got it!

So I went to BI just now and they said got another promo 5.9% 70:30 FD:SA deal. LOL coba nasib cabutan tuah win this & that. Effectively ~4.1x% + lottery ticket  doh.gif

BUT the thing that screw up my day is EPF "promo"  On the way to BI, saw EPF "roadshow" saying voluntary contributions increased to 100K  wef 1/6 today  mega_shok.gif  rclxub.gif

As a jobless warga mas, that is very tempting news. Because iinm, **div is calculated yearly but takes into consideration the dates of contributions and withdrawals... not simply the balance at the end of the year. What that means is that we earn div penuh for everyday the money is with kwsp. And we can treat it like a supercharged savings account, masuk keluar sesuka hati vs zero int for premature FD withdrawal. Of course, warga mas only lah

haha I think they are pretty concerned about the withdrawals - that's why raise to 100K from 60K. And I think also good news for FD rates becos now kwsp competing with the banks - surely the banks will respond with higher rates.

So what do u think?

PS:  **Hopefully I am not mistaken about how div is calculated cos that's a major factor to consider
*
Is it now official that the self contribution is increased to 100K? I put additional 15K i.e. 15K above the 60K in May and it was refunded to me.

Finally open an FD account in Bank Islam! Since I was on leave last Friday, I decided to open an FD account at my kampong. Need to open a savings account and the process took almost 1.5 hours but I did not feel frustrated as the officer was very friendly. We had a good chat... biggrin.gif

if u okay with Bank Islam 12m FD...

can see their 4.5% FD offering... not bad...

if want liquidity.... then ASM1 is your next best choice... anytime can withdraw... and the rate expected to be 4.5% also (depending on market situation & Fund performance)
*
I am already in BI FD @4.5%

ASM used to be my favorite but since their rates drop, it also drop off from my radar...;o)) You are right that the last dividend pay out was at 4.5% which is now not bad comparing to the FD rates. Are you familiar with the way the dividend is calculated?

Not bad for those looking for short term.

For me, BI ain't so bad, since I am only single holder. Have to come for OTC deposits anyway, so no issue for me.

BR I have never bother due to branches mostly in KL. Affin Bank sucks though. I rate it second worse after Mualamat.
*
My experience with BI also OK, just a bit slow but friendly

Guys may be off-topic a bit, but need to hear some advice.
If you have spare money, would you rather put it into the FD account (~3.95% of return), or would you put it into the housing loan account (4.25% saving)?
*
Put it into housing loan. Personally, I have decided to pay off my housing because the FD rates are losing momentum.
