Request to withdraw the money as banker's cheque or cashier order, under your name. They will issue immediately.

I am bringing a BC to CIMB, to be divided into 2 portions, 1 for FD and 1 for SA. Will the fund appear immediately on the SA?

TQ

Not bad, but i rather take the 4.1% otc for the sake of having a joint name. 12 months is too long a time for a single name efd

no, i was in a similar saturation, it can't be divided upfront, but there were two options.

1. deposit into CA/SA first, then only place FD 3 biz days later.
2. place FD first, but split into multiple FDs accordingly, that gives the flexibility to uplift amount that you want to CA/SA 3 biz days later.

Thank you for the info.

I think I will make 2 BC instead as it saves me the trouble from going to the bank again. One for FD and one for SA.

Why too long for single name efd? 1 year is quite short term horizon I believe, especially for something that you don't even need to be physically present to withdraw!
*
Haha when one is getting old or generally a modbid person, 1 year seems too long (touch wood tongue.gif). Joint account is a safety net biggrin.gif

"Young man"  biggrin.gif , we are always young, at least "young at heart" !  tongue.gif

For me, I also has 2,3 and even 5 years FD. Even 5 yrs retail bond just bought last December. I think will can take care of any issues though joint account is faster for the dependents (to get the money).  biggrin.gif

Haha young at heart biggrin.gif Anything more than 1 year, I will make an effort to get the joint holder to go and register once.

QUOTE(Nom-el @ May 8 2017, 12:57 PM)
I don't think they will refund the money to you either since you already agreed to open the normal savings account. If I were you, I would not have opened that account. I understand you did not want to go through all the hassle of queuing up again by going to another branch or coming again another day. The best they can do now is allow you to open another account, the basic savings account with no annual fee. Then, you would have two savings account to manage. I am not sure if they would allow you to close your existing account without penalty. Normally, if you close your account within the first 3 or 6 months, there would be a penalty. But since you were cheated by the staff, I don't know how that applies to you. I doubt you will want to go through all the hassle.

If the staff dares to make it difficult for you after making a complain, get the staff's name and make another complain. I understand that many people would not like to go through that kind of hassle but keeping quiet will only make their attitude worse. Sometimes, just getting the staff's name can do wonders. From "Apa pun tak boleh" suddenly become "Apa pun boleh". biggrin.gif

I had the same experience but with SCB. I lodged a complaint to BNM and demanded compensation from the bank for opportunity loss and time wasted. i got them. The bank sent their staffs to my office to hand over the compensated amount.

notworthy.gif Salute you for taking the trouble to complain to BNM. Glad to hear that you got the compensation. rclxms.gif  If I remember correctly, the issue was with FD right? I think I read about it before in this forum but I do not remember the details. Btw, how do you quantify the compensation for opportunity loss and time wasted? Did you demand for a specific amount or the amount was determined by BNM or SCB?
*
The requirement for the fd promo was to open a savings acc. The manager lied that need to deposit RM1000 plus (cant recall the exact amount) but i know no deposit is required. So I opened a BSA with rm20 deposit. The time delay caused me to have to return to the branch the next day ie losing a day interest. Once i get the written confirmation from hq that indeed no deposit is required for just one acc, i filed the complaint. I asked for just small nominal amount (taking account of one day interest lost, parking, petrol, etc) at first but the figure was denied. So I replied with a higher amount compensation amount (one day wage, or was it half day) and they quickly agree with the earlier smaller amount.

got one staff from cimb call me
ask regarding the branch n the staff...
frankly say,i cant recall the staff name but i did tell them is cimb jinjang

then he say dunno who kinda hard to take action....
anyway,he call me back after he make a call to cimb jinjang
cimb jinjang branch manager told them that they got provide BSA as usual.....
what else to say?
dishonest n try to cheat customer la.....

the cimb staff ask me to go back the branch to close the saving account with annual fee.....the annual fee will be waive.....
then can open a BSA with them for the interest......
i wonder what will happen when i go back the next day for the BSA....lols.....sure alot black face....
*
Simple, ask them to view CCTV recording to see who dealt with you previously. The paper trail can easily detect who, just a matter whether they want or not.

The blacker the face, the better. I faced another cheating case by SCB staff and I still have to go to the branch several times since have several certs. So whenever my queue number is called and the cheater is supposed to serve me, I will say out loud I don't deal with cheaters. So the manager will either get another staff to handle my transaction or he himself will do.

You will need police report to pressure them to show you the CCTV footage.

OT: There is no need for the customer to view the CCTV footage, thus no police report is necessary. They can view the footage internally if they really want to conduct their investigation.

CIMB BM called me. She said the 4.2% 12 mth for Preferred customer will be dropped/lowered next week.

She asked me any plan and she has to call HQ for approval to get 4.2% for me.

So, rush, rush if anyone has any plan for the CIMB FD promo. Call first to see if the 4.1% for normal customer or 4.2% for Preferred still available.  biggrin.gif

That's bad news. Been musical chairing my funds from UOB, OCBC and BR to CIMB for the past few weeks. Hope the new rate will still be above 4.0%
