Hi all,

Just want to ask a quick question. If my FD mature on 30-Dec, can I uplift it on 30-Dec itself? (without forfeiting the interest)

Thanks.

Yes, no issue. It is the maturity date.  smile.gif

Ive tried before, they say I will lose the interest and I have to withdraw the day after the maturity date
Please try yourself and report back here

Just checked today, the interest already deposited to my account. So I guess you can uplift it.

Is it eFD ? Either way eFD or OTC placement should not have problem to uplift on maturity day. What the other forummer reported is a bit strange as most of us do not encounter this issue.  biggrin.gif

Mine OTC... I check the balance using the bank book. laugh.gif

I changed the option... instead of deposit the interest to account to add on. (previously was on promo rate)

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is it that HLB basic saving account is limited for salary crediting? I'm planning to open an basic saving account (for FD purpose), but was told that I can't open it if it is not for salary crediting.

Who told you that? Supposed they should ask u to provide ur source of income instead. Maybe it is very strict for CASA opening nowadays due to rules implemented by BNM.
*
The bank staff told me that.

Should be one of the few branch that too lazy to 'layan' opening Basic Savings Account.
Just go to another HL branch to get your Basic Savings Account.
*
Prefer to open at those branches that open during weekend. More convenient if need to do anything that need to go to the branch.

similar experience with HLB ...told me there's no such account.

I asked cashier to ask manager about the account.
Came out and said "takda"
I said "ok, please issue me letter stating HLB has no such account."
They then said ok, can open the Basic account whistling.gif
*
Maybe I should use this method. thumbup.gif

But are there any difference between basic saving account and the normal saving account other than the initial opening amount? (RM20 vs RM200)

for the HL eFD promo, is it that we need to set it to auto-renewal?

From T&C:-
12. Upon maturity, the principal eFD / eFD-i Amount shall be auto-renewed at the prevailing eFD / eFD-i board rates respectively.

But during the application, I can select no auto renewal. hmm.gif

Don't really like HLB, like to force you to do this or that. eg: force me to download their mobile app.

Maybe consider Affin normal board rate for 1 month at 3.25%?

Where it appears?
