... just wondering ...

Is interest from fix deposit open by company taxable? I know individual is not taxable, but I am not sure about company opening fix deposit account ...

... tks in advance ...
*
normally it is a taxable income but some banks offer tax-exempted deposits for company, like UOB, Ambank

QUOTE(matow @ Jul 28 2017, 12:56 PM)
Had an FD matured in KFH yesterday, I transferred the funds to my Affin account in Bukit Tinggi Klang branch.
This morning went in to place for the 24 month tenure @ 4.25% per annum.
At the counter, the lady says to me, "I give you 4.3% lah", I told her "yes please, thank you very much".
The amount I had place is not big (less than 30K) and further more, no need new funds, so I could add in some money from my savings to top up the FD.
However, the interest will only credit in when mature.

Went KFH today. Best rate is 4% for 12 mths

Did a placement at Bank Muamalat. Purchased Banker Cheque from RHB for FD placement. Firstly, each cert must have value above 100k only entitle for 4.3%. Have some problem with counter staff who insist placing FD with dual name , Banker Cheque also must have dual name  doh.gif . Managed to place it after making some noises, however officer say rule will apply to personal cheques. Got cert and placement date on the same day.
