Gia is not protected by PIDM

That mean our deposit will be burn if the investment gone bad?
It stated the capital is not protected.
If only interest not protected then still ok. But how come capital not protected?
Hmmm

ya our capital is not protected by PIDM, so logically if anything happens to the funds used to invest by the bank, then it's burnt...

HOWEVER, having said that, just imagine is mbb is facing financial crisis, being the top local bank in the country, what will happen to other banks, and also other big shots who have millions in mbb? just saying... some "trust" PIDM so much, and one day if really mbb "collapse", do you think PIDM has sufficient funds to cover every single person... don't think so... just like our KWSP, on paper it's all figure only... physically everything is rolling cash...
*
Well. I know what u mean.
But mbb can declare the fund not performing oso right?
Not necessary that mbb having financial problem.
Jz mbb use the fund money to invest on high risk investment.
Mean if the investment gone bad doesn't mean mbb having financial problem right?
Did mbb need to bear the responsible if the fund not performing/burn?

No possible, CIXX staff not allowed or rejected open BSA, want yearly annual fee ATM RM 8.48 or Debit card RM 15.90.
CIXX staff said : "CIXX no BSA account, can't open. Only old day got BSA account, now only RM 250 with annual fee card."

When you step the CIXX door tell want open account, the staff ready ask you pocket has money RM 250 or not, if not you unable received a ticker meet the banker.
After saw the CIXX banker, the CIXX banker also "CIXX no BSA" how can open to you? (Whatever CIXX website, BNX show can BSA.)

If put RM 250 with paid annual fee sure can, so please calm down.

When you FD with BC, the CIXX delay 2 days date, you lost 2 days interest.
When you want take out, the officer don't know where to go but the system very very very slow. The process look like very security but very trouble the customer. If not wrong can 2-3 hours compared with UOX(Very fast), OCBX(Not bad) and PXX(Ok).
The BC also others RM 0.53 or RM 2.12, If not wrong CIXX, PXX and MaXbank RM 5.98

Don't know what happen of CIXX, please calm down and take care your blood pressure when deal with CIXX.

No sure Cimb staff gave you wrong info or you got the right info wrong.
The RM15.90 is the debit card annual fee, applicable to both BSA without annual fee and BSA with RM8.48 annual fee.
There are two types of fees. Basic Savings account RM8.48 annual fee and Debit card RM15.90 annual fee.
You open BSA without fee but you still have to pay debit card RM15.90 annual fee.
Cimb doesn't provide free debit card to all casa eventhough you opted for BSA without fee.
The only way to get truly free BSA from Cimb is to open BSA without fee account and ask the staff to disable the debit card feature, the debit card can only be used as ATM card though.
*
I only need a saving account for the FD interest as it required so...
I do not need any debit card feature to begin with...
I told the staff very clear before I open the saving account with annual fee 15.90 for the debit card...
What the point I having a debit card when I have 4credit card with different cash back feature?
Some more no point I pay using debit card when I can pay 1month later compare to debit card straight deduct.

The staff jz told me. No more basic saving account with no annual fee. No more bank passbook. U use debit card or not oso will charge the annual fee 15.90. Then did I have any choice? Frankly say I only realise when I come back n login Lowyat there are such issue. I even ask them to straight update the interest into the FD so I no need to open a saving account but they say it a must to open a saving account for the interest.

Simple, ask them to view CCTV recording to see who dealt with you previously. The paper trail can easily detect who, just a matter whether they want or not.

The blacker the face, the better. I faced another cheating case by SCB staff and I still have to go to the branch several times since have several certs. So whenever my queue number is called and the cheater is supposed to serve me, I will say out loud I don't deal with cheaters. So the manager will either get another staff to handle my transaction or he himself will do.
*
Frankly say I jz wan to settle the issue
If can,I don't want to drag the person in....
Mayb she are not aware or something.....I not sure....
As long as the case settle, then can d.
At least they know that somebody might complaint if they continue to do so...

UPDATED 11/05/2017

I jz visited the cimb branch previously.
I straight away go to the reception and ask number for Opening/Closing Account..

the reception girl say opening and closing account will go different counter...
so i told my situation that cimb call centre staff ask me to close the wrong account and open a BASIC SAVING ACCOUNT WITHOUT ANNUAL FEE.

i think the girl can recognise me as she is the one who tell me dont have such account anymore...so she ask me to open the BSA first so that can transfer the money n update FD interest into the correct account...

when my turn reach,a customer service guy who serve me previously serve me this time too..

Me: Morning...i would like to close the wrong account and open a basic saving account without annual fee..with or without atm/debit card without debit function oso nvm...i jz wan the interest to bank in...

cimb : the day i got explain to u regarding the charges right?

Me : ya....but that day the girl at the reception told me there are no BASIC SAVING ACCOUNT WITHOUT ANNUAL FEE...so i force to open a saving account here with debit card charges...i do tell them to update the interest straight to the FD but she say cannot do so...must open a saving account....i do tell the the girl previously that i only need a saving to update my interest....pass book only with or without atm/debit card oso nvm....but she say no more passbook...only got saving account with debit card n charges annually...

cimb : oic....mayb she are not aware of all the product....u should ask me when u open ur account....

me : ya...should have ask u earlier...u are more familiar with all the product compare with receptionist...(the guy is handling opening new account counter)....nvm....whatever happen it happens...jz settle the problem....maybe some miscommunication between us last time....

then it take about 15-20min to close n open the new account, update the interest FD and waive the previous annual fee...

for the member who ask regarding the effective day, frankly say i have no idea.....
i did upload the receipt for u to see......

for my case,i reach cimb around 3.45pm with my HLBB banker cheque.....
the branch manager got say maybe cant do it coz after 4pm they cant do verification.....
so i do not care about the effective date as long as i no need to queue again the following working day....

but as u can see my FD receipt,it show effective day is the exact day(i go on last friday 05/05/2017)
but the maturity is 06/11/2017...kinda weird coz normally FD maturity is 1day earlier(which suppose is 04/11/2017).....
i have no idea actually....mayb coz my turn reach after 4pm?so they cant do verification or other reason i really dunno.....

4 November is Saturday, 5 November is Sunday. Looks like CIMB FD program is smart enough to put maturity date as Monday 6 November 2017 after checking and calculating like some other banks.

But did CIMB print the interest or the final amount as some other banks do?
*
Nope...
Only date of effective n maturity date with interest %

QUOTE(Hagendaz @ May 11 2017, 09:41 PM)
Out of curiosity, what is the minimum balance that must be maintain in the BSA, do you know ?
*

glad to hear you got the waiver, it must be a surprise for you as you didn't expecting it?

now feeling like a happy man d right?
*
Hahaha.
If the annual fee is 1time lifetime charges, I will Jz let it be I guess.
But since can get lifetime free annual fee, then have to fight for it as annual fee is charges yearly. No point pay yearly for nothing.

Understand that will have no interest for the week, but seems like still worth to go.

RM 700 is the interest i will lose if i don't want it to renew it. of course i don't want to renew as 2.35% is lousy. but i will lost the 700 interest if i cancel it
my question is if auto renew is the norm in Malaysia? if i dont tell them, the default is auto renew.
*
actually the rm700 is interest lost if u lift before maturity(after auto renew).....
so basically is the pending interest (from the date of auto renew until the day u go to bank)...
if u lift now, u will get back ur principal+interest during previous FD maturity....

actually basically same.... whistling.gif
1. previous FD mature + interest, no auto renew n bank transfer in saving account for peanut % interest....

2. previous FD mature + interest, bank auto renew.....by the time u free go bank/remmber previous FD expired, u mayb save few month interest period d....mayb u will complaint low board interest rate compare to fresh fund rate....but anyhow better than normal saving account....

u are losing nothing....
maybe the peanut % from saving account....
but if on board FD rate are lousy for u, dont even mention saving account rate.... rclxub.gif
